Act 3A: "Enter the love interest.."
As they boarded the waiting helo, Karen turned to Alex. "Umm, what should I do about my apartment? And my bike?"
"Leave them. The super can figure it out for himself." Alex replied with a smile. She almost melted from that smile.
"Gods be damned, but you are so handsome. You were cute as a teen, but you really grew into your looks these last few years, big brother."
"Thanks." He said, still smiling.
"Ok, out with it. How do you have so much money?"
"Don't you remember? I had a job before I went into the academy." He said, as the helo banked sharply to the north.
"Job? Wait a second, you walked dogs. I hardly call that a job." Karen said, frowning.
"No, to our parents, I walked dogs." He said with a smile. Karen gave him a perplexed look.
"Ok, I'll bite. What were you really doing?" She asked, as she looked out the window and watched the ocean whiz by.
"I was giving pleasure to the older women in our community who were being grossly ignored by their husbands." He said with a smile. Karen looked stunned.
"Alex! You were a gigolo?" She gasped.
"That's right. It paid really well, and I loved it. Hell, the money mom and dad saw was about one tenth of what I actually made. And that was just to make them think I was only walking dogs." He said, smiling to her.
"Well, that would explain why you went through high school without a girlfriend, but it doesn't explain how you could drop 14 million credits, and not blink an eye. You couldn't possibly have been paid that well." Karen said, looking at her big brother.
"You're right. It paid well, but not that well. You see, in the last 3 years, Manchester Estates lost 3 of its richest ladies. 2 of those darlings left me as their sole beneficiary in their wills." He said, as Karen ran the M.E. social pages through her head for the last 3 years. She gasped when it hit her.
"Susan Deveareux and Margaret Caldwell died in the last 3 years. Susan was killed in a skiing accident, and Ms. Caldwell died in a drunken car crash. You mean to tell me, you were secretly sleeping with those two?" Karen asked, total disbelief in her voice.
"Yes, and there is something else you missed. Remember all those balloons I gave you back then?"
"Yeah, so?"
"Maggie had a thing for really big balloons. She was the one who taught me about balloon sex." Alex said with a smile.
"Maggie? Oh! Ms. Caldwell. She was the most powerful woman in all of Australia!"
"And her husband was the most obnoxious, loudmouth banker in all of Australia. You see, Maggie had signed a pre-nuptial before she got married, so when we started seeing each other, it was totally on the up and up. I would be her companion to the stores she went to..."
"Which would explain all the new clothes you had back then." Karen interrupted.
"Exactly, plus, she taught me everything I know about commerce, banking and economics. After her husband passed, we took our relationship up a notch or three. Everyday that I was with her, we were having balloon sex. At first I thought it was kinky, but I have to admit, I have never had a more powerful orgasm then I did on top of those huge balloons. Just the fear of it popping was enough to trigger an earth mover, let me tell ya." He said with a smile, as the helo settled onto the pad at Melbourne Spaceport. Karen blushed slightly, and then hugged her brother. He tossed the pilot a 100 credit note, and helped Karen out of the helo. As they walked toward the main admin building, she looked at him.
