Pirate Battlecruiser Hammerfield, Alphenshore Outsystem, 4-Feb-2329
Act 14: "Rebellion..Part 2"
Leo was rousted from his peaceful slumber in the Captain's chair by a blaring proximity alert klaxon. It seemed that several vessels were emerging from hyperspace all around him.
"Jett!"
"Scanning Cap! Ok, we got ourselves alittle convoy out there. I've got 3, no 4 Spiro class bulk transports all within a quarter of an AU to us." Jett said calmly, as the aforementioned ships began taking evasive maneuvers at the sight of the Hammerfield.
"Val, you better let them know that we're on their side, before they blow a gasket." Leo said with a chuckle. Val nodded and opened a channel. Within a few minutes, Leo-1984 and Leo McShane were making conversation on a secure line.
"So, I'm here on behalf of the Marrokian Imperial Court to offer you escort to your new home, and this star system isn't it." Captain McShane said.
"Marrok? I've never heard of such a star system. Why should I trust you, Pirate?" Leo-1984 said with disdain. Jett just rolled her eyes while Flow let out a grunt of disgust.
"Geez, knock over a few merchants and all of the sudden, you're the scourge of the universe." Jett said with a smile to Flow. He chuckled.
"Because if you don't do as I say, when the Empire gets here, you'll be in no shape to do anything about it, except surrender. Considering you're Tiberius pet project, he may or may not decide to shoot first or talk first. Is my point clear enough?"
"Very well Pirate. We'll follow you. Not like we have a real choice." he said, sighing.
"Call me Captain McShane, or just Captain. I know what I am, and I don't need to be reminded of it from potential allies. My astrogator is sending over the skip coordinates for the first hyperspace skip. How soon until you can skip?"
"We can skip immediately, but then we'll need just over 25 hours for recharge." Val scuffed at the recharge time.
"Damn, talk about a no spare power situation. They really built those ships on the cheap, didn't they skipper?" She said, looking back at her captain. He nodded.
"Ok, what we can do is, after each skip, we can all dock together, and my chief engineer here will set up a power link, so that the main reactors here on 'Hammerfield' can recharge your hyper-drive capacitors faster then a day."
"Very well, Captain. As soon as the coordinates are entered into the nav-comp, we can go." Leo-1984 said. A shout came over his shoulder.
"Captain Leo! Freighter 2 is reporting a malfunction with their reactor. They've had to do an emergency shutdown!" The tech said. This came over the link between the two ships, and Val rose from her station.
"Permission to grab a shuttle and go fix it, Cap?" She asked.
"Flow, grab that new tech, Victor, and go with her." Leo said.
Victor was the resident whiz kid in Val's engineering department. A squirrel like Val, he had a serious knack for power systems, including things as old as solar panels and fuel cells. He and Val made a great team, though Val, being the shy silent type she was, would never admit it.
"Got it boss. Let's move Val!" He barked, as Val, already heading for the lift, sprinted the last few meters. Flow smirked. Val still thought everytime he bared his teeth, she had just landed on the menu, even though he knew she was way too valuable to the ship to end up on a serving tray with an apple in her mouth. Still, it was fun to tease her.
