Scarlets POV

It was nearing the end of the night and walking the line before midnight. All the children and their families has left earlier to put their little ones to bed where hours and hours before Coles mom has brought Lilly up to bed much to her displeasure.
   I was also starting to get tired but didn't want to be away from Cole since I just got him back after a year. After I realized I had feelings for him and he had to go. In a way it was to late because he had to go but in a way it wasn't. It wasn't because we both held onto each other even though we were apart.

I was currently leaning against his chest as he led me.

"Angel" I didn't respond

"Sweetness. I think it's time you get some sleep" he says as he tucks a lock of hair behind my ear.

"No" I whine quietly.

"Yes princess" he said his tone a bit more firm this time but still softly.

I huff but follow him to the living room where we meet up with my brothers and ditch the party.

"She needs rest" Cole said as he talked to my brothers.

"Yeah we can tell. Sis do you want to stay here or come home and go to sleep in your room" I contemplate it. My bed. Oh my bed how I miss thee but it's so far.

"To far" I mumble while trying to sleep.

"Come on then Scar let's get you changed" Shy said also tired herself.

Shy was always prepared and she swayed a bit as we walked to the bathroom upstairs.

"Hey what's up with you." I ask remembering her drinking a bit during the party when she never drinks.

"I-I'll tell you after you get changed" she says with a slight slur.

Now I was with her the whole night and she had maybe three or four drinks and they were very light. I know she wasn't drinking to get drunk but why was she even drinking in the first place.

I take the clothes from her hands along with the makeup wipes and head into the bathroom.

As I walk out I see her back against the wall sitting on the floor crying.

I sit next to her and give her a sideways hug.

"What's going on Shy"

"I broke up with Matteo."

"What" I gasp in shock. "Why"

"We're both still young and I didn't like the person he's turning into. I mean he's still the same but." She screams in frustration.

"That's not what I meant. Not at all. He's amazing but I'm not strong enough to be in the world we're in. And
No I'm not suicidal or anything it's just I don't want to be in the mafia life. I never really have. At least not like everyone else." I smooth down her hair and wipe her tears

"It's fine. Keep going please" I reassure her

"I've gotten death threats from being with Matteo in these past two months. I don't want any part of this. When I'm older I want to run my own fashion boutique where I'm in charge. I want a family who isn't in constant danger because of me. And once Matteo told me he loved me I broke down sobbing. I love him so much but I can't be with him I'm not strong enough"

"Hey Shy listen to me. This life that we live isn't for everyone. You deserve a normal life. But you are strong enough and I don't believe you for a second that you're not. Now come on. Either stay here for the night or I'll have Matteo take you home." She nods and we walk down the stairs.

"You have to tell him you know. He deserves to know why you two broke up."

"Yeah" she sighs.

"I'll tell him in the morning" knowing the person Matteo is he'll still always be there for her even if they broke up. Now it's up to her if they'll stay friendly or have it awkward.

"Hi. Can we go home please" she asks Matteo quietly. In turn he just gives her a gentle yet awkward smile and nods his head yes leading her to the car in the process.

"Come on princess time for bed." Cole says taking my hand and leading me up the stairs.

He gives me a smile as he leads me to his room and lays me down.

"Night" he whispered

"Night" I reply back as he places a kiss onto my forehead.
