Chapter 2

Angeline's Pov

Let's recap what just happened; Diana and I went into the woods, a Minotaur chased and nearly KILLED us, and now, two random guys are carrying us to I don't know where. Great. This was just perfect. What will Mom think?

Anyway, Diana was beginning to lose conscious. The guy carrying her kept telling her to stay awake. I felt helpless earlier, watching the Minotaur kick her in the stomach and send her flying. Stupid fat half bull half man animal. . . I'm still wondering, why the heck is the a Minotaur in the woods? I thought they didn't exist! Weren't they in Greek mythogoly? What in the world?!

I looked up at the guy carrying me. Why was he carrying me? I'm not as badly injured as Diana, but I did have a few scratches from the branches. I made a weird sound in the back of my throat, an effort to speak. The guy looked down at me. He looked about my age, 14, and had sandy blonde hair with unforgettable, ice-blue blue eyes. I tried to speak again, this time being able to form my words. "Put me down!" The blonde blue-eyed guy put me down carefully, but yanked my hand, signaling for me to hurry. "W-Where are we going?!" I tried to shout over the growling of the Minotaur following us.

"Camp!" he called back. Camp? What?

We arrived at a small clearing, where two horses stood. Wait a minute. . . Two horses. . . with wings? Weren't they called Pegasi? And weren't they from Greek mythogoly, too?

"Get on!" the blue-eyed guy told me, leading me toward a white Pegasus, pulling me up.

"But I'll fall! And. . . who are you?" I asked, very confused. He took a quick glance at Diana's 'protector', at least that's what they were calling themselves, and looked back at me.

"Nick. My name's Nick. Now get on! Hurry!" I did as he said, even though every cell in my body refused, but I was too weak to resist. In a few seconds, we were up in the air. I screamed, gripping tightly onto Nick's waist, my bit of fear of heights getting the best of me. I couldn't believe what was happening. We ran away from a Minotaur and now we're on a Pegasus flying in the air, heading to some camp. Diana would be screaming right now if she weren't asleep. We'll she kind of passed out. I looked to my left and found an unconscious Diana in her protector's lap, both flying on a white Pegasus, too.

"Who are you?" I called out.

"Philip," he called back. Diana's protector's name was Philip. Awesome. Philip and Nick, two protectors of Diana and Angeline. Having a protector made me feel weak, and I hate feeling weak. Why do I need a protector anyway? Am I weak? Do they think I'm weak? I'm not a super special girl. All I can do is play violin and piano, I love to read, and I love water, which includes swimming. Oh, and I like the color turquoise. What's so great about that? Little did I know what I truely was. . .

A few hours passed, which felt like days. I don't know where we were going, or how fast we were going, considering my jet black hair that was once neatly pulled into a ponytail was now losely pulled together, my hairtie gripping my hair for dear life. Diana was still passed out, not moving unless Philip adjusts her position in his lap. Finally, we made it somewhere. We landed at what seemed to be a . . . strawberry farm? Nick began hiking uphill, followed by Philip carrying my best friend and now my sister, Diana. About halfway up, Nick looked back at me, confused.

"You coming?" he asked. I shook my head, still shaken from the Minotaur incident. Nick jogged down next to me, holding out his hand. "C'mon, you'll enjoy this. You belong here." I hesitated at first, but took his hand and followed him uphill. Philip, with Diana in his arms, carrying her bridal style, was at the top of the hill, next to a large pine tree with a dragon napping at its side. That was weird, yes, but I was too tired to freak out. Philip crossed to the other half of the tree, which seemed to have a faint glow to it. There seemed to be a force field of some sort or a wall, dividing one side from the other. As if reading my mind, Nick answered my question. "There's a border protecting Camp that keeps the monsters out. I nodded, imagining confused monsters that kept ramming into a wall that they couldn't even see. Cool. Nick and I crossed the border with ease. I looked down the hill from where we came, and our Pegasi were gone. I wonder where they went. When I finally looked down the other side of the hill, I saw an incredible place below. Pegasi were in the air, campers were playing volleyball and sword fighting, and two guys, who seemed to be twins, were hanging from a vine that seemed to have come from a girl with auburn hair.
