Alice
"Miss, which dress would you like to wear tonight?" The maid who has been trying to get me ready for the past hour asks. She's probably ready to murder me, but at this point I really don't care. I don't want to go to tonight's daily broadcast. The king is going to kill me once he finds out what I plan on doing. On the plus side I get to meet Owen's friends he's always talking about. I think their names are Adam or maybe Axel, no, it's Alex. Definitely Alex, and I think the other's name is Phoebe.
"Knock, knock, knock."
"Come in." Owen slips through the door as the maid rans out. Literally rans out of my room.
"What did you do to her?" Owen laughs the question out.
"It's probably the fact that I took twenty minutes to decide between two dresses, didn't sit still while she was doing my hair and makeup. Oh, and the endless amount of questions I ask. I really didn't want to get ready." Owen rolls his eyes at my response before popping himself on my sofa.
"Well, as much fun as that sounds, my friends will be here in like five minutes. Do you want to go meet them at the doors?"
I look at him to see him making puppy eyes at me.
"Fine." He jumps up and rans to hold the door open for me.
"Yes! You finally get to meet them. Your going to love them. Especially Phoebe, she's like you but meaner. Then there's Alex who is pretty chill and like in love with Phoebe. Ooh, also Alex's younger brother Le..." he rambles on and on while I tune him out, trying not to trip in these six inch heals the maid chose for me tonight. That's the last time I annoy the person who picks my shoes. I nod at every guard we pass till we reach the front door to the palace. The two guards by the doors open them while me and Owen walk outside. Good thing it's the summer or else we couldn't have waited out here.
"... and after the turtle released Alex's toe we put in back in the pound. Hey, we're you even listening?"
"Yes yes, you put the turtle back in the pound where you should have left him to begin with."
"Oh, good. It loo..."
"Owen!" A shout comes from in front us. Looking up it's a girl dressed in a red dress. She runs and attacks Owen in a hug. I look at them and smile.
"I'm guessing your Phoebe?" She looks at me and let's go of Owen.
"Hi, yes and I probably look crazy just running and hugging people." She laughs and starches the back of her neck.
I laugh a bit too before saying, "yes, but it's okay I do the same thing."
"Phoebe I told you to be calm." A guy shakes his head with a small smile. He puts his hand out, "I'm Alex. It's nice to finally meet you. Owen here doesn't stop talking about you." I shake his hand, taking a quick glance at Owen to see him blushing.
"Same here. I hear so much about you all as well."
Hearing a throat clear I see there's one more person.
"Oh, and I'm sorry, I didn't see you there. Wait, aren't you that boy from this morning?"
"Ah, um, yes." He looks really nervous. He has a slight blush on his cheeks.
"What, you already met Leo. Wait, this morning while you were taking pic..." I elbow Owen in the gut before he continue talking.
"Yes, I would remember seeing a cute boy. Plus it's kinda hard to miss someone you run into." I roll my eyes while Alex and Phoebe laugh at the scene.
"Miss. Princess. Where's the princess?" We look towards the doors to see a butler.
"I'm right here." I step away from Owen and out in the open.
"Oh, I've found you. The daily news is about to start the king sent me to look for you. Come now princess we mustn't let him wait."
"Ah, yes we mustn't. I will be right there. You can go ahead in."
"Miss I re..."
"Are you back talking the future leader of this kingdom. If I say I will be right there I mean I will be right there. Now, do as your told and go inside while I finish my conversation that you interrupted."
"I'm sorry miss." He bows and turns around. I exhale a breath before facing the others preparing for their looks of disgust that I just bossed someone like I just did.
"Alice, shouldn't have done that. Do you know how mad your father's going to be? Do you not remember how you came into your room this afternoon?"
"Yes, I know he's going to be mad, but after tonight there's no going back. I might as while be signing my own death. Good thing I don't fear death. I fear what I will leave behind."
"Alice it's not to late to turn back, I'm sure the people can handle..."
"No Owen! I'm done being a pawn in my fathers game. You know the plan and I hope you fill your friends in on the plan as well. We wouldn't want them receiving the king's wrath. It was lovely meeting you all. I hope we meet on better terms next time and I wish the best of luck escaping this place." I nod my head at them all before turning, straightening my back and walking towards my death. Okay, maybe I'm being a little dramatic. Or a lot.
