Chapter 5(Cousins)

         We pull up in front of the hospital and both Nick and Jordan rush to my side,"good for me".Nick opens the door and tries to help me out but I stop him midway with a raised- hand .He looks at me annoyed,looks up ,takes a deep breath that I roll my eyes at and then back at me.  He tries to say something which I know is his patience about to go off like a ticking bomb,but Jordan arrives in time to save the situation.
      
         "It's okay,I got her.Just hold the bag please."He hands my bag to Nick and carefully helps me out of the car.He carries me bridal-style into the hospital as each step I take causes me to groan in pain.

      Dr.Niya attends me and directs  the nurses to treat my bruises.She explains the pain in ankle as a minor sprain that will soon heal with proper care.The nurse administer some medecines to me to help with the pain in my back and asks that I get some rest.Nick enters the room as soon as the nurse enters and walks majestically to my bed.I begin to wonder if the "Nicholas Pierce" is really about to apologise to me like a gentleman.
         "You intentionally did it right,"
I look at him confused.
         "What do you mean?
"You know what I mean,Kingsley.You just got in my way so you could get back at me for getting you into trouble the last time".I look at him trying to see if he actually understood what came out of his mouth.
           "OMG Nick"I look at him surprised at how bold he uttered those unreasonable words.
"You know what,I thought you were sick.Now,I know you are,you just justified it".
"I have no interest in childish acts like revenge.I have better things to do than waste my time getting back at someone.You really are something else.REVENGE,I turn to look at him and chuckle,"funny".
       He kept looking at me as if he didn't care about what I was saying but I knew inwardly,my words were sinking deep.I  looked at him and saw the fire of pride that was lit in his eyes going out,I just put Nicholas Pierce in his place.I wish someone from school was here to see it.
        I began to wonder where Jordan had gone leaving me with "him".The door opens and I sigh with relief thinking it's Jordan till I seeLilian come inside .
        "Heyy Liz",she says with a sad smile that makes me uncomfortable,
        "Am not dead yet and that's not happening anytime soon either,so cheer up",I let a small laugh out at the end and she laughs back.
"I know,it's my cousin am feeling bad for",she laughs again,this time with a tinge of happiness in it,more like a wicked laugh.
          "Cousin?I look at her confuse.Who is she referring too?Nick immediately stands up and walks to Lilian who is still at the door.
          "I see you guys know each other already",Nick holds Lilian's hand and they both come closer to my bed.
          "Yep,we are cousins",Lily says with excitement and I fake a  smile back.
          "Woow,who could have imagined?I say surprised as I nod slowly trying to comprehend the situation.
         "Yeahh,but there is a problem,she says slowly.
          "What is it?
        "He is dead."'
