We keep talking about what happened and so forth, Alex takes me into another room. "Please, have a seat. This is where I need to ask you some questions by yourself" she explains everything. We get started with everything. She presses a button on what looks to be like a tape recorder. "First off, what is your name?" she asks, "Alison Malloy" I tell her. She continues, "Tell me what happened from the very start, do not leave anything out" she ells me.
I nod, "My husband, Trent Malloy is a Texas Ranger. Trent arrested somebody a few weeks ago, and sometime after he did; he got a call from somebody named Rick" I tell her everything, she then presses the button again and thanks me for my time. We both then walk out, she then calls Trent in; probably to do the same thing. Just then, I feel my phone vibrating in my pocket. I look at it. Answering it quickly, I step aside.
"Hey Meg" I say into the phone. "Oh thank god! Trent found you!" she exclaims. I giggle, "Yeah, it's a long story" I tell her, "Mommy!" I can hear Scar say. "The girls are right here and really want you" she says. "Girls, when mommy and daddy are done here then we will come and get you" I tell them. "We love you" Jess says, "Love you!" Scar tries to copy her older sister. I smile at them, "I love you too! Thank you for everything Meg" I tell her. "You are welcome, happy you are back with everyone. Good luck!" "Thank you, see you later" I tell them and then hang up.
I walk over to the group of the rangers, "So, how did you and Trent meet?" Syd asks. I blush just thinking about it, "We had a mutual friend. We were both invited to a party he was throwing" I explain.
-Years before-
Blake walks over to me, stopping at my desk. "So, I'm throwing a party tonight" he says as he rests his arm on my door. "Why is that?" I ask, raising an eyebrow. "Just because, and I want you to come" I think about it. "C'mon. I need my best friend there" I roll my eyes, but give in anyways. "Fine. Where and when?" He has this big smile.
"My house, tonight at 9" he tells me, "Okay, I'll be there. But that means you need to leave in order to get ready for all these people that you think are going to be there" I tell him, as I look over at the clock resting on the wall. He laughs but leaves anyway. I turn my 90's hitlist on from my most used music app, also turning on my bluetooth speaker. I dance as I look for something in my closet.
I take out two of my favorite dresses. I hold them both up to me in front of my body mirror. I keep placing the two over my body, trying to decide which color would look better. I look over at my bed again, seeing the other dresses. I reach for my phone, texting Blake. 'Which color looks better on me? Black, blue, red or a navy dark blue?' I keep trying to decide while waiting for his text back.
'Black will be to dark for tonight. Blue flatters you, red makes you look bold. How dark of a navy blue are we talking about?' he texts back. I laugh as I read his message. I send him a picture of the dress. Almost right away, he sends a message back. 'No!' I put my phone down. "Okay, so what do I wanna feel tonight?" I ask myself, turning my body and looking in the mirror. I look at the light pink dress laying on my bed, untouched.
I hold it up to my body, liking the color against my skin. "I think you're the one" I say to nobody. Looking at the dress, I try it on. I spin around again, deciding. I smile at myself in the mirror. I really do like this one, so I put all the other dresses away. 'Light pink?' I text as I send a picture of me in front of the mirror. I get ready to head out the door as I feel my phone buzz. 'Yas queen!' is the message I get back.
I smile wide, "Glad he likes it". I leave and get in my car. I drive over to Blake's house, and once I get there I can see the many cars. I roll my eyes but find a spot anyways. Once I do, I go in. A few minutes later, I find Blake with a tall blondie. I look him up and down, but go over anyways. "Excuse me" I say as I walk over. Both males look at me. "I told you that there would be a lot of people here" Blake says with a I told you so voice.
The other guy just laughs, I roll my eyes. "Anyways, Ali this is Trent" he introduces as he sweeps his hand over to the blondie. I greet him, "I'll leave you two to talk" Blake says as he turns to me and winks before leaving. "So, what do you do for work?" I ask him. He's a cute guy, so of course I am interested. "I'm not really doing anything right now. Just practicing material arts and in hopes to become a law officer later in life" he laughs slightly as we both walk over to the bar part of the house.
We both order drinks, "Cool, how is that going?" he smiles over at me. "It's going really good. I am actually the top of my class. What do you do?" he asks, turning his body so he has all his attention on me. I bite my lip, to keep myself from blushing. I know I just met him, but I mean; DAMN! "I'm just an ordinary cashier" I explain. We talk throughout the night, not leaving each others side. Soon, everyone is dancing. So Trent being the gentlemen he sounds like, holds a hand out for me. "Would you like to dance?" he asks. I nod, taking his hand. After the dance ends, I look at the time. "Wow, it's gotten late real quick" I explain as I tuck my phone back in my dress pocket.
Trent agrees, "I had a great time with you tonight, and I know we just met tonight; but I want you to have this if you want it" He says as he hands me a piece of paper. I look at it, it's his number! I bite my lip again and look up at him. "Sure! I'll text you right now so you have my number" I tell him as I take my phone out of my pocket and enter his number in the contacts.
