' "Now don't come find me, I won't be here waiting..." '
Rain poured down, hitting me like rocks as I skated the way down the long slippery sidewalk. The wind whipped as thunder started to rumble behind me.
' "I so can do it alone, you're not worth staying..." '
Trees blurred passed me the faster I skated away, I need to get to the nearest blimp stop before this storm gets any worse. The nearest one is about ten more miles out from here, I sighed and pushed my skateboard faster.
' "Weren't listening but now there's no way you'll hear..." '
Harder and harder the rain pelted against me as huge cracks of thunder filled the deep purple sky. I pushed my foot the fastest I could against the slippery sidewalk and it started to slip.
' "I'll turn it up like you turn me down, I'm not afraid. Hit play, hit play..." '
My skateboard kick flipped from under my feet and went flying up into the air, taking me with it. I landed back first on the soaked sidewalk and all my stuff fell around me. I quickly reached my hands out to grab my piano as it came straight for my face, I caught it just in time.
I sat up, dropped it next to my purse and looked up into the pouring rain, that's when the first lighting strike hit.
I slammed my fists into the sidewalk, "Are you fucking serious!"
' " It's the sound of walking away..." '
All I got was another crack of thunder in response. I sighed heavily, stood up and picked up all my scattered things. I threw my purse and money bag over my shoulder as I put the piano behind my back.
I walked over to my turned over skateboard and picked it up, carrying it against my side.
I need to find some shelter, this is only getting worse...
I scanned around to see where I landed and just my luck, I was near some trees. I quickly got of the sidewalk and ran onto the wet grass. Water and mud bounced up behind my every step and I finally made it to a big tree.
I looked it over and my eyes fell onto a huge hole in it's trunk. I quickly ducked into it, barely fitting all my stuff in it, and sat down on the dry grass hiding under it. I took off all my things and put them behind me, resting against them.
I sighed and started out into the stormy night. Thunder cracked as lightning struck and rained poured down, I started to shiver. I brought my knees to my chest as I wrapped my arms around them and went into a fetal position. Finally I was staring to warm up and my eyes got heavy.
I rested my head on my cash bag and drifted into sleep.
I'll get away from here tomorrow, I can sense it...
A bright light hit my face and warmed it up, my eyes started to flutter. Sunlight blinded me soon as I opened them, I covered my eyes.
"Gah! So bright!" I said out loud.
Slowly I started to open my eyes and they adjusted to the bright sunlight. I stretched out my body then, cracking all 206 bones and crawled my way out from the tree trunk. I took off my hoodie first and tied it around my waist. I grabbed my things out, put them over my shoulders and took my skateboard out last.
I got up from the ground and headed back for the sidewalk. Once I stepped on it, I dropped my skateboard down, got on it and skated off.
It was a warm late summer day today. The sun shined and dried everything from last nights storm. The calm wind moved my strawberry blonde hair around as I continued to skate on. Faster and faster I went down the sidewalk as it brought me closer to my escape.
