Today's the day! My boy will be an Alpha!
Andy doesn't want to be Alpha but once he is proven he will get stronger. He plans to challenge his father as soon as he is confident he can win. I know my pup will be an excellent Alpha.
"Momma!" Little Aaron runs up to me. Well maybe not to little at 11 he's nearly my height. "Andy is 20! I carved him this wolf statue. It's an Alpha like him!" The pup smiles as he sets his gift on the table.
"I'm sure he'll love it Aaron." I tell him.
"I'm gonna go see him. Wish him a happy birthday. I kinda want to see him proven anyway." He says and I quickly stop him.
"Andy is coming over tonight to celebrate with us. He said he just wants the morning with his mate." I tell him hissing the word mate.
Don't get me wrong, I want my pup happy, but this girl... something is off. Who puts off the mating ceremony for two years. The pull is hard to fight. I just don't trust her. Maybe I'm just jealous that she's taken my boy. Who knows? As long as he's happy so is this momma wolf.
That night Andy never came home. I linked Beta James and found out he was beaten by his father and is in the infirmary. I told Aaron that he had some work to do and we'd see him tomorrow. I don't have the heart to tell him the truth. Andy is not an Alpha which will turn all attention to Aaron. My baby boy will be taken from me and I don't know what will happen to my little protector. If he's not an Alpha his father will have no use for him. I can't lose my pup!

"Ahhhhh!" I hear a scream from outside waking me in the early morning.
"No!" I whisper as I run to the window. A mother knows her pup's voice.
I peek through the curtain to see my boy bound to a pole. My mate towers over his own son with a whip in his hand.
"What is it momma?" Aaron asks as he comes up behind me. I can't let him see Andy like this. The mother in me wants to run out there and protect my eldest but I can't do that and protect the boy in front of me. If I go out there they will both lose their mother. I can't help Andy but I will save Aaron from seeing his brother like that.
"Aaron, I need you to listen to me. I want you to go to your..."
Whip!
"Ahhhhhhh!" Another cry causes me to flinch.
"Go to your room and put on some music." I finish.
"Momma, what's going on?" He asks trying to look past me.
"Listen to me, Aaron!" I yell and he looks me in the eye. "Do as you're told. Please, my precious pup, just do what I ask you. I will explain later. For now I just need out to listen." I beg him and he nods as he hugs me.
"Of course momma." He says and runs upstairs to his room closing the door.
The window in his room faces the woods so as long as he remains in there he won't see a thing. I hear the music start and smile when I hear swing music come out of the speakers. Aaron truly is my boy. He has it on loud as he always does, so I just hope it drowns out his brother's screams. The next scream wipes the small smile from my face as tears fall down.
"Protect him." I send up a prayer. A desperate plea for divine intervention.
After it is quiet I dare to look out the window again. I see my pup's bloody body and gasp. I run out the door but am caught in someone's arms as I try to reach my boy.
"Katie! Katie!" He shakes me to get my attention.
"Turn me loose, Beta! My boy!" I beg him as I cry.
