"Kusa-kun, I'm home!"

Sakusa was in the kitchen, already preparing Tooru's mint tea. He needn't be told how hard practice was for Tooru today, it always was after a long day of classes. Sakusa's own practice was tiring enough, but he also didn't attend post-secondary classes and he wasn't the captain of MSBY, which meant he almost always got home first.

"How was your day, my Tooru?"

Tooru blushed a little and giggled, he absolutely loved how possessive Sakusa was. It was a reminder that he was loved, a reminder that Sakusa wasn't going anywhere, a reminder that their living situation was a good idea.

"It was a bit stressful, but I've got news!"

Sakusa turned his back to the soba he was preparing, ready to hear what news his lover had to offer. He saw the pure excitement in Tooru's face, but he also saw a slight bit of the doubt that always came with the good news Tooru offered.

"I got an offer to play in Argentina."

The soba was abandoned, the tea kettle began whistling, and Sakusa's body felt like ice.

He knew this was selfish, he knew that Tooru had always wanted to play in Argentina, he knew that he idolized the team, he knew that it was one of his biggest dreams.

Sakusa also knew that he had a tendency to be extremely selfish. He plastered a quick smile on his face and turned back to the meal and tea he was preparing.

"That's amazing, Tooru. You must be so excited."

Sakusa could feel each word knot in his throat more, he could feel every tear threatening to spill out, he could feel his breath shake.

He focused on the soba.

"I am, but I wanted to make sure you were okay with it first."

There was his Tooru, the one who would sacrifice everything for the people he truly loved, and Sakusa was one of them. He was tempted to beg him to stay, tempted to be selfish once more, tempted to shut him out entirely.

He didn't do any of those things, because Tooru deserved everything that made him happy. He deserved for his dreams to be his reality, he deserved to excel.

"Of course I am. You've always wanted this, Tooru, you should accept the offer."

"But 'Kusa, I want to stay with you. I want to be near you, anywhere and everywhere, and you can't leave Japan. You have the Black Jackals, you have Mori-chan and the rest of your family. I could never ask you to come with me. I want- no, I need to stay with you."

Sakusa felt a tear roll down his cheek. He would be more than willing to chase Tooru, more than willing to follow every dream of his, not hiding in his shadow but rather standing on the sidelines for him, supporting him every step of the way.

He also knew, however, that Tooru would never forgive him if he did any of that. He also knew that Tooru was more than willing to do the same for him.

"You need to go. We both know it, love. Go and kick ass, become better than any version of yourself that brings you doubt. I will always love you and be there for you, anywhere and everywhere. That's our promise, remember?"

He felt arms wrap around his waist, he felt safe but unsure of what he was going to do without this medicine. Tooru's touch was like a drug to him, each time it was there he craved more, more, more until he would be sick of it- but he never was.

"Thank you, Kiyoomi. I promise, we'll figure out time zones and talk every day. I promise to be the strongest I can, not without you but away from you. I promise to be yours, anywhere and everywhere."

Sakusa turned around in Tooru's arms and pressed a kiss to his hairline.

"Anywhere and everywhere."
