Hi guys. I know some of y'all was wanting an update and here it is. The original author posted this like yesterday. Those who celebrated it I hoped y'all had a happy thanksgiving and for those who didn't, I hope y'all had a good day. I'm pretty sure y'all know the warnings already.

When James saw Charlie return with the cup, he was overjoyed. The crowd erupted into applause and cheers, all for his boy. Charlie had won the tournament, despite being one of the youngest.

His face fell however when Charlie looked around wildly. Then James noticed the blood on his sleeve and the fire. Charlie's robes were on fire!

Sirius had apparently noticed at the same time and both sent a jet of water at the boy, soaking him and putting out the fire. When Lily, James, and Sirius reached him, they noticed he was shaking badly and silent. The wild look in his eyes scared James. It reminded him of looks people would wear when something bad had happened, but they could process it yet.

"Charlie? Are you okay?" James asked and took Charlie's arm. The cut was deep and it was no doubt the reason his son was looking so pale. The wound was still slowly seeping blood, his sleeve was dripping water mixed with the blood.

"POPPY!" James heard Sirius howl.

"It's okay son, everything will be fine." He sat behind his son and held the boy's hand up. Lily was quick to transfigure a cloth and pressed it to the wound, slowing the bleeding. A quick glance told him that Poppy was hurrying across the field towards them. The silence from Charlie was starting to worry him though. What on earth had happened?

Poppy reached them and demanded to see the wound. When Poppy waved her wand to clean up the area around the wound, there were two things James noticed immediately. One; the wound was deep enough that James could see bone. Two; the wound was very straight. There was no way he had gotten that injury by accident. There would be an unevenness to it that James knew from experience. Which led him to the conclusion that someone had done this to Charlie, on purpose.

When Poppy tried to heal it, the wound didn't close all the way. A second try and it got smaller still, but not a bunch. James knew what that meant, too. Illegal magic. There was a reason that certain spells were legal and certain spells weren't, even if they did the exact same thing. Some just weren't possible to heal easily, if at all. It was a third clue to let James know there was something seriously wrong.

Dumbledore had remained silent while Poppy worked. He didn't fight with Poppy when she demanded that Charlie be transported immediately to the hospital wing for further treatment.

"James, Lily, take Charlie to the hospital wing. Sirius, get Kingsley and Cowan to help escort him there. Do not leave his side. I'll address the crowd." Dumbledore instructed. James wasn't about to fight him and Poppy for it.

Sirius sped off to get Kingsley and Cowan, while James and Lily helped Charlie to his feet under the watchful eyes of Poppy. Charlie was swaying on his feet and both Lily and James wrapped an arm around his back to steady him.

They started making their way to the main building and were joined shortly by Sirius who was followed by Kingsley and Cowan.

Once inside they laid Charlie up in the closest bed. Poppy, who had hurried off into the office, returned with a whole bunch of potions. Some James recognized, like blood replenishing potion, others he didn't.

Charlie had slowly started crying and hadn't stopped shaking. He also still hadn't said a single word. It worried James more as the wound did at this point. What on earth had happened in that maze?

It wasn't until Dumbledore stormed into the hospital wing when Charlie changed. He seemed to shrink into himself. "Young Mr. Potter, what happened in the maze?" Dumbledore demanded. It pissed James off quite a bit, couldn't he see that Charlie was horribly upset and hurt?
