Chapter 6

I woke up and looked at the time.

'7:15 am'

I had woken up before my alarm, which was unusual, but it wasn't because of a nightmare. My body was just thrilled to go to school. Usually, I wouldn't want to go to school because I get ignored, but it was different here.

I had now been in Konoha for five days and I loved it here. Shikamaru and I would hang out all the time with his other friends as well.

Even though I had transferred in the middle of the first term I was able to enter their friend group. Kiba, Lee, and Shikamaru had become my closest and only friends.

Everyone else pretty much ignored me but I didn't mind. I was used to it after all.

Kiba was a hyper weirdo with red arrows on his cheeks and a cute puppy called Akamaru. Kiba thinks it was fate for us to become friends because I have whiskers on my cheeks. We both don't know how we got the marks but just that we had them since we were born.

Lee on the other hand loves sports and is always training. He's on every sports team in the school. I had mistaken him as the son of Gai sensei, our pe teacher when I first met them. In my defense, they have the exact same haircut.

It was Friday today. The last day of school before the weekend.

Like every other day, I completed my morning routine and made my way downstairs. I decided to wear an oversized sweater today to cover up how skinny I was, while still not standing out that much.

Unlike other mornings I had an appetite today. I managed to take hot chocolate and a croissant for breakfast without having the urge to puke.

'Seems like having friends is making a positive impact on me.'

I grinned at the thought and cleaned my dishes away. Swiftly making my way to the door afterward, I put on my shoes and texted Jiraiya goodbye.

The quietness of the street unnerved me so I decided to listen to music as I was walking.

I loved music. It helps me forget where I am or even who I am. Mom always used to say I was a music addict. Although I know she secretly loved it as much as I did.

'I wonder what mom and dad would be doing right now?'
