The morning after the zoo I wake up to the sound of sirens. I groan, tapping the alarm button on my phone. Why I ever thought setting my alarm as an air raid siren would be a good idea, I don't know, but I'm too lazy to go back and change it now.
It's only six AM, but I have an early lecture today. I signed up thinking it was at seven PM, not AM, but I guess this is what I get for not reading the details.
I feed Edgar before anything else, since he has the tendency to knock items off of tables and dressers when he hasn't been fed. As much as I love my cat, he can definitely be a diva sometimes. He'll only eat wet cat food, not the gross dry pellet stuff, and refuses to sleep in a normal cat bed. Just my bed, or smack in the middle of the couch.
Since a theater lecture isn't exactly fancy, I put my hair up in a ponytail and wash my face. No makeup except for some concealer. I forgot to wash off all my foundation last night, so my skin's greasier than usual. I take note to remember next time, although I'm pretty sure I did that last time too.
I pull on some leggings and a sweatshirt and grab a granola bar before heading out. I don't live on campus as I wanted to save money, but I end up spending a lot more on travel than I would've for the rental fee on campus. Next semester I'll probably move closer to Uni.
The train is crowded for this early, so I stand rather than have some random person practically sitting on my lap. I feel a little bad as my backpack is basically hitting a little girl on the head, but I have bigger problems. Like what I should do for my next video. That's nearly always on my mind recently, as videos have become more of a chore than something fun or enjoyable. Yes, I'm grateful for everyone who has supported me over the years, but now it's as if nothing I make is satisfying.
The train slows at my stop and I bustle out, ready to be free of the small carriage. The classroom isn't far from the stop, so I walk for just a few minutes.
I stroll into class perfectly on time, giving the professor a quick nod before taking my seat. A few more latecomers stroll in before he looks around, and stands, beginnin
At ten the lecture is over and I run over to a cafe for some late breakfast. Granola doesn't fill a stomach up much, and it was taking all my willpower to keep my gut from using a whale's mating call.
"One scone please, and some black coffee."
"No milk?"
"No thank you." I grab my food and sit near the window, trying to keep track of the time. Once I came in here and got lost in my thoughts, missing almost half of a class. By then I was too late to even attempt going back to class, so I just got a half day off. My grade for that day suffered, of course, but it was just one day.
Next I run back across the campus, since the bus was taking way too long. I need some exercise anyway, sitting on Tumblr and studying doesn't exactly give you a workout. While walking I also remember that later this evening I have a little dinner with a few friends from home. I'm not sure I'll tell them about Dan, but they'll probably get it out of me somehow. There's no better interrogator than your best friends.
I get on the Tube and ride home, although while lost in my own head I get out a stop too early. Just for exercise, I suppose.
When I get back to the flat I still have some time left before I have to get ready for dinner, so I start a video. I'll probably have to finish later, but it's not the end of the world. My viewers are used to random outfit changes in the middle of videos, even haircuts in between jumpcuts. I'll always cherish the time I literally waited half a year to finish one video's outro.
"Hey guys, so today I figured it was due time for a video and picked up a camera! I know... I really should be studying, but I know I've not been posting much due to Uni. I'm trying to be good, guys, but it's so stressful! Anyways, I figured I should talk about my life the last couple weeks!"
