"You went out on a date with him? I can't believe this is happening! And without my help!" Violet put her hand to her chest before wrapping me in a hug.
"It wasn't a date really. It was just lunch because Louis was trying to save me fr- uh from my boring job," I stuttered. I still hadn't mentioned who Zain was and why his number was in my phone to Violet yet. It's not like there was any need to. He was a pest and I was doing my friends a favor.
"It was just the two of you at an Italian restaurant sharing a meal together and staring at each other with adoration and talking about how deeply your souls are connected," Violet rambled on dreamily.
"Okay Violet, Fazoli's is a fast food Italian restaurant and we just ate outside. And I accidentally burped in front of him and so if you're talking about deep, it kind of was," I stepped on the white tiles as we walked to lunch.
"Romantic," Violet rolled her eyes, "honestly Luna can't you contain yourself for the sake of not ending up alone."
I raised a brow at her, "If someone decides not to marry me because I burp- which is natural by the way- then I'd rather be alone."
"Not natural for a lady," Violet mumbled.
I smacked her arm. She was always so disapproving for my lack of 'ladiness' but after a few months of me not changing she got used to it. No, she was still disgusted of me but she decided I was too good of a friend to pass up. I had that affect I guess.
"Cute braid things by the way," Violet complimented. She took one of the thin white braid's that hung on the left side of my head, bounced it, then let it land right back in it's place halfway to my belly button.
"Thanks, I saw Charlie do them on twitter and I thought I'd try the pig tail braid things myself," I smiled as I made the two braids dance a bit before letting them go.
Violet sighed.
We both said 'Charlie Barker' at the same time before laughing and walking into the lunch room. I both hated and loved us. If that was possible.
We sat down at our usual table with Monte, Louis and Lucky and I dug into my spider-man lunch box to chomp on an apple. Lucky spotted Liam and Sienna walking side-by-side and called them over to sit with us. I couldn't help but smile because for the first time there was only one open seat at our little table of misfits. It felt good, but at the same time I hoped the group wouldn't become any bigger than this. I had a few true friends who filled my life up enough and that's all I would ever need.
"It's so weird that you guys go to our school and we've never even met," Violet shook her head as she stabbed her pasta salad.
"I know it's crazy. I guess that just makes you look at how large and divided CHS is," Liam commented before biting into his sandwich.
"Yeah people mostly just keep within their group and don't ever try to talk to anyone new," Lucky added.
"I love meeting new people," Monte smiled.
"Me too," Louis agreed and we all nodded our heads.
"So who's trying out for swim this season? I think I'm looking to join," Liam changed the subject.
"Me," Sienna smiled widely at him and nudged his shoulder.
"Besides you silly," He smiled warmly at her.
"I do every year. Swim is the best sport CHS has to offer," Monte smiled.
"Where are you from again Monte? I don't think I caught it when we met," Liam asked genuinely.
