Chapter 7

"Crystal wake up..." I shake her slightly as I try to awake her. Crystal is a hard sleeper, but I need her to get up. I have to work today at the Hodge's home. As much as I don't want Crystal and Cole around each other this is the best option I have. "Crystal!" I shake her harder this time. Before I could even move back, she swings her hand towards my face. I quickly grab it, "Rude..." She opens her eyes and glares at me. "Why the fuck did you wake me up?" She sits up and rubs her eyes. "I have business with Cole. I need you to come with me." She grumbles and starts to get out of her bed. "I was planning to visit Rose..." My eyes widen at her words. "Why?" She walks to her closet and I turn around. "Because I need to tell her the truth...She knows about me running away. I feel bad about lying to her." Of course she feels bad. "What about Ein?" I stare at the ground and soon I hear her sigh. "I'm not sure if I want to tell him. Hell Tony! He liked me..." My eyes widen, "When were you going to tell me this?" Crystal mumbles that I can turn around. I turn around to see her in high-waisted rip jeans and a white crop top. "It wasn't planned to tell you. It's in the past...I'm sure he doesn't like me now." She walks over to her bedroom door. "You don't know that!" She opens the door and before she walks out she turns to me. "I do know that...He's dated other girls after I ran away..." I can hear some brokenness to her voice. Crystal never liked talking about her past. If I was her, I wouldn't either. Though she is still my sister. She walks out of the room and walks over to her bathroom. Crystal enters her bathroom and starts to finish getting ready. As much as I love her to death, but she is also very dumb. Why in hell would she go and see Rose. I sigh and start to call Cole. "Hey dude..." I walk out of Crystal room. "Sup dude." I smile and start to walk to my room. "So we have a problem. Crystal is going to go see Rose and Ein. I don't want her to go by herself." I hear Cole sigh. "Really?' I enter my room and sigh. "She is dead set on going." I start to go through my laptop. "Just drop her off and then come out to the house." I nod my head and say a quick bye.

I hear Tony say a quick bye. I shake my head, "You know you don't always have to protect me?" Tony jumps at my voice. "Dammit Crystal!" I giggle, but soon frown. "Tony I am an adult now. I can protect myself. You don't have to take me to Rose's!" Tony looks at me and sighs. "Crystal you are my sister and no matter what I have the right to protect you. Why do you think I don't want you going by there?!" I glare at him, "That's not your choice! I am a grown adult! You can't just make choices for me!" Tony places his phone down and steps closer to me. I am not in the mood to deal with this. He sighs, "Crystal if people find out..." My eyes widen. "FIND OUT!! Tony I am dead since I was 16! Let me live for once!" I walk out of his room. I was upset and I just can't talk to him right now. Of all people Tony could never understand what pain I went through. God this just ruined my day. I exit the mansion and ask a butler to take me to Rose's. This might be a bad idea, but she's my best friend. The car ride was silent...Soon arriving to the home, I tell the butler to return to the mansion and if I needed a ride back I'll call minutes before. This is my only chance to make things right with Rose. Before walking to her door, I look towards the window. Ein is here...I sigh and walk to the door. I knock softly and stare at the ground The door opens and reveals Rose. "Oh may I help you?" She smiles at me. I smile, "I know I came by here awhile ago, but since my partner isn't here with me...I must tell you the truth...May I come in?" Her eyes widen and nods. She opens the door wider and motions me inside. "The truth about Ella?" She walks in-front of me and enters the living room. I take a seat and see Ein in the Kitchen. "You may not believe me, but what if I told you that she is alive..." my voice was shaky, but I was determined to tell her. Rose tilts her head slightly and soon Ein walks into the room. "Ella Cathaway has been missing for several years and is presumed as dead." I sigh and shake my head. "Technically she's neither of those things. Please do not get scared or kick me out when I say the next thing..." Rose looks at Ein and soon Ein's eyes widen. "Ella...?" His eyebrows furrow as he stares at me. "It's good to see you again Ein...I'm sorry I had to lie about my own death, Rose. We can't have many people know I am alive." Rose soon looks at me surprised. "If you really are Ella, what did we do when your parents were gone on a trip." I smile, "You and Ein normally would go to the store and buy like popcorn and other snacks. While you two were doing that, I was at my house getting everything set up. Once you two arrived we would sneak you in the house from my bedroom window. Ein would allows mess our hair up before he left..." Rose and Ein smile at me. Before I know it Rose is engulfing me in a hug. "I knew you weren't dead!" I giggle and hug her back. "I can't believe it...Where have you been!?!?" Ein ruffles my hair and hugs me. "I joined a dangerous family that's why we faked my death. It's been a crazy few years and I missed you two." Rose looks confused, "Dangerous family?" I sigh and nod my head. "Mafia..." Once I said that word Ein looks at me surprised. "Hold on the Mafia...Ella what the hell!" I shake my head and look him dead in the eyes. "It was the only true way to escape. I am safe in that home...Other than from my protective brother..." Rose looks at me and raises a eyebrow. "Before you say it the guy who came with me that day is not my brother. He is a business partner of my family." Ein looks at Rose. "Wait you came by here?" Rose sighs, "She did, but it was to say she was dead...What is your new name?" I smile and try to hold a giggle back. "Crystal. Crystal Baker!" My smile never left my face. Ein sighs and soon sits down beside me. "Crystal...I like it." Before I could reply my phone vibrates. I take a small glimpse of the notification. 'I'm sorry for how I acted. You are a grown adult and I never meant to make you upset. I hope everything goes well. -Tony' I smile at my brothers text. "Who you smiling about?" I look up to see Rose wiggling her eyebrows. "My brother...We had a fight before I left." She looks over to Ein and mouths, 'He still likes you!' I roll my eyes at her. "Oh now I think about it! If my father allows it in a couple of weeks we are holding a ball! If you want to come I can ask Father." Rose eyes widen, "Ball!! Crystal how rich are you now?" I giggle at her response. "Rose what do you expect? I joined the Mafia!" I hear Ein chuckle. "I still can't believe that." I stick my tongue out. "I may seem all cute and innocent, but if you threaten me or my family we will have problems!" Ein ruffles my hair. "Even when you are threatening it's cute!" I push his hand away and glare at the male. "Rude!" He chuckles and looks over at Rose. Who at the moment was trying to recover over the ball thing. "Rose, it's just something we do yearly. We hold them for potential business partners to come and for well other business." My smile falters as I remember last years ball. "If your Father says it's ok we will come! I want to see you in a fancy dress!" I roll my eyes at her. "Quick question! Will we be in any harm?" I look over at Ein. "No! We will have guards around special people who don't operate in the Mafia. I'll probably be around you too. Plus this year it's a masquerade ball!" Ein nods his head. Before anyone could say anything my phone starts to ring. "I'm sorry I have to answer this..." Ein and Rose nod. I answer the call and place my phone to my ear. "Hello?" I stare at the coffee table. "Hey Crystal!" I hear Coles voice from the other line. "Is there something you need Cole?" I ask as I start to mess with hair. "Yes actually! Can you do me a favor when you get home?" I tilt my head slightly. "What favor?" I hear Cole chuckle. "I need you to do a search on Angel Garcia." My eyes widen as I hear the name. "Why?" My hands form a fist. "I think she's onto the fact of who you are..." I mumble a quick shit as I realize how she know. "Is Tony still with you?" I look over to Rose who was mouthing who knows what to Ein. "Yes, why?" I shake my head and soon become serious. "Tell him that I was right about not trusting Detective Angel." I hear Tony yell fuck. I simply hold a laugh back. "Bye Cole! Thanks for the information!" I hear Cole say a goodbye and soon hang up. "That little bitch..." I mumble as rub my temples. "Is everything ok?" Ein places a hand on my shoulder. "Sadly no. One of the people who knows about me is a detective. I knew she wasn't trust worthy!" I sigh and stand up. "I have to go. I wish I could stay longer, but I need to get back to the mansion." Ein stands up and so does Rose. I grab my phone and call one of the Butlers. The butler answers and soon realized what I was needing. "A car is on its way to you madam." I mumble a thank you and hang up. "Are you sure everything will be ok?" Ein looks at me with concern. "Ein I have kept myself alive for a few years now...I'll be ok. I'll text you when my Father says you two can come to the ball." I walk to the door and open it. "Crystal...please be safe, ok? I can't have my bestie dyeing again." I chuckle at Roses words and give her a quick hug. "I'll be ok." Ein looks at me and ruffles my hair. "Be safe pipsqueak.." I roll my eyes and walk out of the house. The butler with the car just arrived so that's great. I wave a goodbye as I enter the car. The two wave bye and soon I'm heading back to the mansion. I'm glad I could tell Rose and Ein the truth.
