Seres opened her eyes and blinked at the ceiling for a few moments as the sun shone through her curtains. She jumped out of her bed and went over to the door of her room, then proceeded to try and open the door with both her hands twisting the knob. Eventually the door swung open, and she adventured out of her room, across the hallway, and started on the knob of the room opposite hers. This time she opened it much quicker, and once she did, she quickly snuck into the room and tiptoed towards the bed, where her parents were both sleeping. Link face sleeping face down on the edge of the bed, his arm dangling off the side as he snored into his pillow. Zelda was facing  the opposite side, and between the two was a gap just big enough for the little Princess.

"Good morning!" Seres exclaimed joyfully as she bounded onto the bed and landed on her father.

Link did not even respond as he continued snoring, but Zelda woke with a start as she looked around frantically before smiling at her daughter affectionately.

"Good morning, darling." She replied, pulling Seres off of her husband so that they could hug, "Did you sleep well?"

Seres nodded and kissed her mother on the cheek.

"Look at Daddy snoring." The Princess remarked before imitating the sound Link was producing.

"That was very good!" Zelda laughed, "Shall we get changed and then eat some food?"

"Food?" Link blurted out as his snoring came to an abrupt stop.

"Yay, Daddy woke up!"

Link giggled as Seres scrambled over towards him and jumped into his arms.

"Good morning, Trouble." He greeted as the two rubbed their noses together.

"I'm hungry..." The Princess mumbled.

As she said that, the stomach of her and her father both growled in unison. They looked down, before bursting into a fit of giggles.

"Like father like daughter..." Zelda sighed whilst smiling.

"Surely you must have realised that any child of mine will have a particular fondness for food." Link grinned.

"Well, why don't we get you two hungry monsters some food?" Zelda offered as her daughter and husband punched their fists into the air and cheered.

"Food. Food. Food. Food." They chanted as the two danced out of the room, Zelda following behind them as she stifled a laugh.

They all went through the castle, enthusiastically greeting any servants who smiled at them in the hallways. Eventually, they made it down to the dining hall, only after having to stop multiple times due to Link and Sere' horseplay.

"Mmmm, what's for breakfast?" Link demanded hungrily as the family sat at the table.

"Something yummy for me and mummy and something yucky for you!" Seres giggled as her mother laid out a napkin on her lap for her.

"Hey, seriously? We're supposed to be food buddies." Link said, feigning sadness, "And it's only because of yummy food that you were even born."

"Link!" Zelda snapped.

The parents watched as their daughter played with her cutlery, pretending that they were people as she conjured up a whole world for them.

"And the knight will save the princess!" Seres declared as she brought the knife up to the fork.

"Not unless the evil wizard stops him!" Link joined in by holding up a spoon and hitting the knife out of her hand, "Mwuahahaha, you'll never save your precious princess!"

"Don't worry, knight, I'll help you." Zelda held up a butter knife and engaged in a duel with Link over the table.

"You'll never defeat me!" Link cried.

"No, she has to." Seres whined, "the knight has to save his princess!"

"Not always..." her father added thoughtfully.

"No. He has to." Seres said definitively.

Zelda hit him with the butter knife and disarmed him of the spoon, catching it in midair as it flipped out of his hands.

"The evil wizard has been defeated." The Queen stated.

"Yay!" Seres picked up the knife and fork and brought them together as she made kissing noises.

"Want mummy and I to make more realistic sounds?" Link smirked as he leaned over the table towards Zelda.

"Get away." His wife swatted him away.

As a few servants arrived with breakfast, the royal family tucked in to a delicious meal consisting of french toast and chocolate, along with a cup of tea for Zelda, orange juice for Seres and milk for Link.

"So yummy!" The young princess exclaimed, chocolate smeared all over her mouth.

"Indeed!" The Prince Consort agreed, his nose somehow covered in chocolate.

"You both eat so sloppily." Zelda noted, chuckling slightly.

The family continued to eat their meal, however it was far from silent. Link would often crack jokes, Seres would babble on about something only she understood, and Zelda would scold the other two for not eating their breakfast. Finally, they were done with the meal, and Zelda stretched her arms and left to get ready for her trip.

Link and Seres both waited in the hall at the main entrance to the castle as the Queen arrived in her travelling gear, her bags already loaded in the carriage outside by the servants.

"Alright, you two be good, ok?" She asked as she first kissed her daughter on the cheek, and then her husband on the lips, "try not to burn the castle down or anything."

"As if..." Link scoffed.

"When will you come back?" Seres mumbled, pulling up her dress and chewing on it.

"Soon." Her mother smiled, taking the dress out of her mouth, "you won't even know I'm gone."

"Yeah, you and I will have a spiffing time!" Her father encouraged, "It'll be fun!"

"I'm worried now." Zelda chuckled, "Your idea of fun is..."

"Don't worry, Zelds, you go do your business stuff, we'll be fine." Link hugged her and kissed her one more time, "I'll make sure Seres behaves."

"Or should it be the other way around?" His wife pondered.

"I'll look after Daddy!" The Princess piped up, taking hold of her father's hand with her tiny ones, "I'll make sure he's not naughty."

"Thank you, darling."

Zelda hugged her family one last time before stepping out of the castle and into the carriage, waving goodbye the whole time.

"Bye Mummy!" Seres called out as Zelda stuck her head out of the window and blew a kiss at them.

"That's mine." Link stated as he whipped his hand through thin air as though catching something.

"She's gone..." his daughter mumbled whilst the servants shut the door.

"Cheer up, Trouble." The Prince Consort laughed as he hoisted her up onto his shoulders, "Now, what shall we do first?"
