"Come on, come on!"
Seres barged into her parents room and scrambled onto the bed, where she started jumping up and down gleefully.
"Of course that's the first thing you do when your mother leaves." Link chuckled.
"I want to fly!"
Seres took a massive leap before springing off the the bed. Her father gasped before diving down to catch her in his arms.
"Again! Again!" She cheered.
"Seres... Maybe not." Link winced.
However, his daughter was already making it towards the vanity in the room, where all of Zelda's makeup and accessories remained. She curiously picked up a perfume bottle, then sprayed it into her hair, crying out as she dropped the bottle and frantically wiped her eyes.
"Silly girl." Her father scolded playfully, sitting down at the vanity as he wiped her eyes, "oh, this smells nice."
He picked up the dropped perfume bottle from the floor before tentatively spraying some on his wrists, breathing in the sweet flowery scent he often smelt on Zelda. He blushed slightly at the thought.
"Can I brush your hair?" Seres asked him, holding up a hairbrush.
Link smiled as he undid his pointy tail and allowed his golden hair to cascade down his back. His daughter began to clumsily run the brush through his hair, making him wince as the brush tugged on his hair.
"There, all better." Seres stated proudly, though Link felt like it was even more tangled than before.
She then began to explore all of the makeup on the table, and even rifled through the draws to find rouges and eyeshadows and many other things. She picked up a tube of lipstick and took off the lid, but just as she put it to her mouth, her father held up his hand and stopped her.
"No, wait, let me do it." He said, taking the lipstick from her.
He skilfully wiped the lipstick across her lips, then proceeded to dust her eye lids with a light shade of purple to match her dress. He was reminded of how Zelda once let him do her makeup for her, and how he made a mess of her lipstick; not that it mattered in the end since most of it ended up smeared across his face afterwards.
Link finally added the finishing touches to Seres by adding some glitter on her cheeks. She clapped her hands excitedly as she looked in the mirror, adoring the makeup on her face.
"Your turn!" She declared as her father gave her a worried look.
She started with the eyeshadow, and began to cake Link's eyes with some dark blue. She then smeared some crimson lipstick all over his mouth, and finished by coating his cheeks with glitter so that he sparkled in the light.
"Done!"
Link was scared to open his eyes and look in the mirror, but he did it anyway, and he almost burst out laughing at the sight. The eyeshadow had extended to his eyebrows and his nose, and the glitter made him look like some sort of fairy. Not to mention the lipstick which stretched all across his mouth and up to his ears.
"I look like a princess!" He finally giggled.
Seres grabbed hold of some bows and clips on the vanity, and began attaching them onto Link's wild locks, before taking a shimmering tiara off of a stand and placing it on the Prince Consort's head. He smiled and winked at her in the mirror, before getting up and twirling around the room, daintily pointing out his toes and holding out his arms as he floated about.
"Why are you so good at dancing?" His daughter pondered.
"Your mother has made me dance a lot." Link sighed, thinking of all the balls he's had to attend.
Seres stared at her father as she lifted up her dress and chewed on it. They eyed each other up as she continued to munch on her dress.
"Stop that!" Link snapped, "Its gross!"
"You're gross."
"I-"
"Mummy says that." The Princess continued, "She says you're so gross."
"That hurts..." Link mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck.
"I want to eat some sweets!" Seres commanded after a while.
"Do you want your teeth to rot and fall out?"
"Yes."
"Me too, let's go."
He lifted her up onto his shoulders as they went out of the room and across the hall way to the grand staircase. A small grin spread across Link's face as he sat down on the smooth, wooden railing. He took Seres off of his shoulders and held her tightly.
"Hold on, ok?" He said to her.
He slid down the stairs as Seres squealed and laughed with joy.
"Don't tell your mother I did that." He whispered to her once they reached the bottom of the stairs, "She always yells at me whenever I do it."
"I promise!"
He grabbed hold of her tiny hand as the pair walked to the royal kitchen, where a small group of chefs were bustling about, cooking whatever tasty meal that was going to be on the menu that night."Hello, Your Highness." The head chef said to Seres, bowing to her, "How can I help you?"
"Sweets!" The Princess exclaimed, "Me and Daddy want to eat sweets."
"And any cakes, if you have any." Link added.
"But you know the Queen's rule about sweets and cakes." The chef sighed dejectedly, "The Princess can only have it for dessert."
"But she's not here." Link smirked.
"Very well." The chef smiled.
He returned a few moments later with a platter laden with all kinds of vibrant sweets and cakes. They all looked so good that Link felt his mouth water as his and Seres' stomachs growled in unison.
"Thank you!" Seres beamed at the chef before she and her father left the kitchen.
They sat down on the steps of the staircase as they began stuffing their mouths with the treats.
"So tasty!" The Princess giggled, the frosting of a cake all around her mouth.
"Oh this is divine!" Link sighed happily.
After they had finished- Link was quick the eat whatever Seres didn't- they patted their belly's with satisfaction.
"Hey, Seres." The Prince Consort started, "You know I have a house."
"A house?"
"Yeah..." He thought for a moment, "Do you want to go see it?"
"Like an adventure?"
"Like an adventure." Link smiled as he watched his daughter dance around with joy.
