Chapter 10: More then meets the Eye

As the weeks went by, Jake and Asher became even more closer as friends. They played pranks at the park pretending to be ghosts, and doing other silly things with Jake's friends.

It was about two weeks before term one holidays. And Asher collected her books from her dull blue locker and slowly walked to her Math class. When she arrived, all she could see is an empty seat towards the middle back as well as loud students talking to one-another and yelling across the room.

When the Math teacher arrived, he had someone beside him. Everyone stood behind their seats and greeted the teacher. "Good Morning Mr. Everdeen!" Everyone greeted and then sat down. "Good Morning students! Today we have a new student, his name is Hunter".
"Hey.." He nodded with his head down.
"Hunter, you can go and sit next to Asher" Said the teacher pointing towards me.
"K" mumbled Hunter as he shuffled his feet towards my table as the surrounding students stared at him, he then sat down.

I don't know what, but there was something about him that made me feel not scared.

Most of the time, Hunter had his head down, but I tried to get a closer look at him. He had nice brown hair and blood-red eyes. He looked different compared to the other students as he was shy and quiet. One time, I think I heard him say something like "Oh God, why do I have to be here?" Or something like that, I'm not sure.

After school, Asher picked up her bag from her locker and walked towards her small group of friends. When suddenly, she was stopped by Hunter.
"Hey, your Asher right?" He asked quietly.
"Y-yeah.."
"Can I talk to you very quickly?"
"U-Uh.... Sure..."
"Ok, follow me".

She followed Hunter to the school garden where no-one was. The garden was filled with the beauty of roses and daisies. As well as wooden chairs placed around the garden wall to sit on.

"W-What were you gonna say?" Asked Asher in a stutter.
"Well, remember the guy you fought a few weeks back?"
"Yeah?.."
"Yeah, well that was me"
"Oh, my, gosh! I am so sorry!! Please don't hurt me!"
"Look, I'm not gonna hurt you, but I'm just saying to watch out for people..."
"People, what people?"
"Vampire Hunters"
"So, you know I'm a vampire huh?"
"Yeah, when you were fighting me, I noticed that you used your powers"
"Oh, and how did you know?"
"Because I'm a incarnation of Death it's self"

While they were talking, they didn't notice that Jake had been there all along! He had been eavesdropping on them with a wicked smile on his face. What is he hiding?...
