Cold. Dark. Quiet. The surface below you was freezing, causing your fingers to sting. Your clothes were clinging onto your skin, some areas as frigid as the ground; opening your eyes felt like a chore as all they wanted to do was shut when they were exposed to the air.
Get up, you tell yourself. Get up, (Y/N), you need to get up.
Your voice cracks as you groan, pushing your heavy torso up off the ground. Lifting your left leg up to come into a kneel, you body feels odd, as if its shifting and adjusting itself to your surroundings. A small piece of (A/C) hair falls into your eyes as you lift yourself up off the ground, but you push it away and adjust it to keep it up and somewhat neat. With a small shake of the head, you turn away from where you woke up and search the area around you.
The silence kept you on your toes as you crept about; one small step at a time. What was this place? Where were you? You couldn't tell behind the green fog and fowl aura that circled around your body. Looking to the left, a bright light blinds your still adjusting eyes, causing your reflexes to react and lift your hand to cover your face. The light was orange, brighter towards the center as your eyes wandered. In the middle, stood a green illuminated figure with a tall head piece. By the way it's body curved and how it stood, it was assumed the figure was a female, but no other way to find out than to walk over there.
Your legs felt weak, calves on fire, as you trekked to the now visible staircase etched in the rocky mountain. Looking down, you can now make out your green scout outfit; light reflected off the steel armor. You watched your foot appear below your chest and take your first step up the slope.
Why am I here? Your mind continues to wander.
A few steps up the mountain and your thoughts are cut short. Behind you, loud noises of creatures echoed in your wake. When the light hit their bodies, you could make out tens, if not hundreds of large creatures moving at quick speeds; your heart began to beat quickly. The chase began as you turn around and take off, climbing as fast as your sore body could go. Looking up, the illuminated woman was reaching down for you, her fingers stretched out as if to rush you, but no words came from her mouth. Finally, your hand met hers and she pulled you up, sending you through a whirlwind of sensations. Again, your body felt off, your skin tickled by something that held no form.
Your feet gave you no support as you fell through what felt like a thin strip of water, crashing to the ground in a heap of heavy breaths and groans. Footsteps echoed in your ears as a blinding green light clouded your vision. Whatever you came through took a lot of energy to get to and your body gave out along with your consciousness. Slowly, your eyes shut as you fell into a deep slumber.
