Running Away

Chapter 5: The Red Death

Hiccup's POV 4 weeks later...

     BANG. BOOM. Toothless shot another plasma blast at the Red Death. We were in the sky shooting blasts at the dragon. Vikings were below watching us in awe. They were from Berk. Luckily I was wearing my helmet and new armour I had made. No one knew who I was. The dragon shot fire every where burning Toothless's tail.

     "Time's up. Let's see if this works." Toothless and I nose dived towards the other side of the island away from the Vikings.

     I felt the Red Death open its mouth ready to fire. "Hold Toothless...NOW!" We turned shooting a plasma blast into the mouth of the beast.

     We tried to pull up but Toothless's tailfin  was completely burned off. We got hit by the huge tail and I was knocked off, blacking out.

     I felt air breathe on my face. I opened my eyes seeing Toothless. He licked my face and showed me his gummy smile. I was in a cave but there were tables and a sink and some counters and a couch and chair. A fireplace was blowing not far from me. I definitely wasn't in my house on Berk. Good, but where was I? I sat up immediately when Toothless accidentally stepped on me.

     I guess the person who helped me heard me. A woman came from sitting by the fire and walked over to me.

     "I see you're doing better. You finally woke up." Her hair was long and tied into a braid.

     "Where am I? Who are you?" I looked at her with a smile.

     "You probably won't believe me, but I am your mother. I happened to be flying by when you fell after you save your old tribe from the Red Death. I took you to where I live and healed you. I managed to make you a prosthetic leg and a new tailfin for your dragon." She sat in a chair next to the bed.

      I hugged her, "Thank you so much. I though you were dead. Everyone said you were dead. Wait I don't have a real leg?"

      "No. Cloudjumper was never going to hurt met." She let go and smiled. "So tell me how did you befriend a Night Fury and why did you run away from Berk?"

      "I didn't belong there. I somehow got the honor to kill the Monstrous Nightmare and that's when I left because Toothless jumped in and saved me from the Nightmare eating me. I tried showing everyone they're not what we think they are but Dad provoked it smacking his hammer and it freaked. I was living on an island probably a few hours flight from here and Toothless took me to the island. We left before it could eat us and then we came back a few days later to study it. I found my whole tribe there. They were all going to get killed. I had to do something. Luckily I landed on the far side so they couldn't find me. Thank you." I finished my story and swung my legs over to the edge of the bed.
