"Wake up, dipshits! It's time for you to get out of my house," you hear as a pillow smacks you in the face. You hadn't even noticed you fell asleep during the last movie. You pick your head up off of Matthew's chest and poke him in the side to make sure he's awake.

"Sorry, Ana. We didn't mean to fall asleep," you apologize with a stretch.

"It's whatever. You two have passed out at every movie day for the last month. Do you not sleep at night?" You can't help but snort as Matthew chuckles.

"Well, if you really want to know --"

"Nope stop, I don't," Ana waves you off. You push yourself up off of the couch and go to give your sister a hug goodbye.

"Oh, chill out, dude," you tease as she squeezes you back. You pull away and Matthew follows your lead, giving her a hug and kiss on the cheek. "Thanks for hosting, as always. See you next week?"

"That's the plan. Drive safe, kids. Don't fall asleep at the wheel!" Ana taunts.

"Yeah, yeah. Love you."

"Love you, too!"

"Bye, Roy!" you yell in the direction of the kitchen.

"Thanks, Roy!" Matthew shouts to your brother-in-law.

"See ya, guys!" you hear him shout back. Matthew grabs your blanket off the couch and you collect your car keys from the coffee table. You follow him out the front door and down the driveway to your car. You slide into the drivers seat as Matthew settles into the passenger side.

"Back to my place, right?" you double check as you turn down the driveway.

"Yeah, if that's still cool?" he checks back. You find it adorable that even after over ten months of dating he still wants to make sure he's not intruding.

"'Course, babe. Mi casa es su casa," you giggle. Matthew grabs your hand resting on the center console and laces his finger through yours. The two of you chat aimlessly as you navigate your way back to your apartment.

"Do we need to pick anything up for dinner?" he asks as you get closer to your place.

"Does pasta still sound good?" you answer his question with your own.

"Sounds perfect."

You park and hike up the few flights of stairs to your place. Matthew throws your blanket onto the back of the couch as you kick off your sandals. You make your way into the kitchen and start a pot of water for the pasta as you pull a few ingredients out of the fridge. You begin to chop up some tomatoes and garlic to throw into the dish when you feel a pair of arms wrap around you waist. Matthew pulls you back into his chest as he presses a kiss to the side of your neck.

"Anything I can do to help?" he mumbles into your hair.

"Yeah, actually. Can you throw some spaghetti into that water for me?" you ask.

"Yes ma'am," he answers, pressing another kiss to the top of your head. Matthew does as you ask as you finish up your chopping. You heat up some oil in a pan and add in the garlic then the tomatoes. You throw in some spinach and finally the pasta, topping things off with some parmesan. You don't even notice Matthew has been leaning against the counter, staring at you the whole time.

"What's you deal, huh?" you laugh as you separate the pasta into two bowls.

"You're just so hot when you cook, I can't get over it," he answers with a smirk, handing you a glass of white wine you didn't even see him pour.

"Oh, shut up. You've seen me cook a bunch of times, it can't be that great." You make a bee-line for the couch, wine and pasta in hand and Matthew on your heels.

"Trust me it is. And it will never get old." You dig into your pasta as he turns the TV on. It's pure luck that the channel you left it on is halfway through The Life Aquatic. "Oh, no way. Give me the remote," Matthew protests, reaching for the remote.

"Come on! Remember last time we watched this movie?" you say, throwing the remote onto a chair across the room so he can't get to it so easily.

"How could I forget. Well, I remember most of it, but I'm pretty sure we were both pretty wasted by the end."

"You're not wrong." You put your pasta bowl down on the coffee table and you do the same with Matthew's. "But I think this movie is the reason we're together." You crawl towards him, throwing a leg across his lap so you're straddling him and wrap your arms around his neck.

"Oh yeah?" he says as he curls his arms around your waist. "Then maybe we should give Wes Anderson a thank-you call."

"Wait, can we actually?" you pull back a little bit, excited at the notion.

"In theory, I guess. I do have his number somewhere," Matthew laughs. "But no, we're not going to bother Wes Anderson."

"Come on, dude! That'd be so cool! And I'm sure he'd think it's cute."

"I haven't talked to him in over a decade. We can invite him to the wedding."

You can't help but let out a small laugh in disbelief as your eyes widen. Sure, you're coming up on your first anniversary, but neither of you have ever mentioned marriage. Well, you know he wants to get married one day and he knows you do too, but you've never talked about it in the context of marrying each other.

"The wedding, huh?" you question, dragging your hands down his chest.

"Yup, the wedding," he answers, seemingly unfazed and completely comfortable with quick change in conversation.

"Are you proposing to me right now?"

"Well... No, but I plan on it. When I propose to you, I don't want you to have to ask me if I'm proposing. Hopefully it'd be more clear and there'd be a ring."

"So you plan on marrying me?"

"I do."

You grab his face with both hands and press your lips to his. "I do, too," you breath out, pulling away. "Damn, I love you so much."

"I love you," he echoes.

The movie and the pasta are long forgotten as you spend the evening making out on the couch and whispering sweet nothings to each other.

"Remind me to thank Roy, too, when we send Wes the wedding invitation," you only half-joke.

"Can do," he reassures, squeezing you for the millionth time. That'll never get old.
