Life and Death
(3/4)

" Hey, N/n! We're having a study session in the library, you'll come right? " Ned's voice rang through her phone.

She didn't want to. She couldn't face any one. After Peter had left for his patrol that day, she just hated herself even more. She hurt him, when she promised herself she'd never do that.

" What time is it? " She asked numbly, trying not to sound so broken. She was exhausted.

" Six. "

" I'll ask mum and text you. Bye, Ned. " She quickly hung up, clutching her phone in her hand.

By the time it was six, Y/n had already texted Ned she couldn't because her mother had been planning a family dinner. Y/n loathed herself for the amount of lying to her own best friends.

She had skipped many study sessions, movies, hang outs with lame excuses everytime ever since last week. She had said family dinner, she was going out with her father and sometimes mother.
She was not in the mood and whatnot.

She just couldn't. She'd easily avoid them at school, but it was getting hard when they just wouldn't let her go.

The next day,
She quickly got ready for school, mentally preparing herself to answer all the questions Michelle and Ned would throw at her and maybe Peter too. She knew they'd corner her this time.

She left early, not wanting to go with Peter again because she knew he'd get everything out of her anyhow and she wasn't ready to face the look yet. The disappointment, pain, and sorrow.

As she reached the school, she got in easily, knowing the hallways weren't as crowded was a nice change because she was always late when she wasn't with Peter.

Her feet stopped when she took another turn. There stood Peter and Michelle, holding hands and than Peter leaned in, pulling Michelle in a kiss.

Y/n's breath got caught in her throat. She tried to gulp it away, it wouldn't budge. As the chest pain started to rise, she took a small step back and eventually, turned on her heels and dashed out of the school, pushing past people on the way.

She didn't know how much she ran, but the pain was too much, and her eyes were glossy. She breathed heavily once she locked herself in her room, her parents banging on her door.

" Y/n! Please open the door! You're worrying us! " Lana said but Y/n could only hear a harsh ringing in her ears. She couldn't hear her own sobs.

Clutching on her chest, she blinked away the tears and looked at her watch, which was beeping loudly. " Y/n!!? "

Stumbling her way to the bathroom, Y/n fell in the tub and drowned herself in the water, hoping to calm down. Once she couldn't hold her breath anymore, she came out, gasping for air.

That always helped her. It was a trick her doctor suggested her if she got the attacks. The door barged open and she gulped down her fear and shakiness.

" I'm okay, I'm okay. " She whispered, Lana rushing to her side to hug her.
" You're fine. Relax and take deep breaths, honey. "

Y/n did as her mother asked her to, and eventually relaxed. " What happened? " Lana asked, knowing it wasn't good if she started getting attacks again.

" Nothing, I was just walking and the pain started so I ran back home. " She breathed out, stripping out of her wet clothes and changed into something dry.

" Oh, honey. I'm so scared. " Lana hugged her, Y/n leaning in the touch. As the left the room, she was again enveloped in a hug from her father, Bill. " I'm okay, dad. I'm sorry for worrying you. "
