*Ryan's POV*
It was now a week until the final examination, and I was starting to feel a little bit nervous. Everything and every fun would be coming to an end very soon. It felt just like yesterday I joined college, and now the journey was about to end. In the last few months, I had become really attached to Sarah, and now I don't have the slightest idea how I would proceed further without her. It would be really difficult at first to operate without her, but then I would have to because she would be here in college and I would have to join my dad's business. We wouldn't get much time with each other, which is why I wanted to spend most of my free time with her. And today, I was planning to get her to come with me to hang out somewhere. I was planning to take her to the theme park, but when I thought about it, it wouldn't be a good idea as it was snowing outside. I would have to think of a place where we could sit, relax, and just have fun communicating with each other. Then I remembered that place where I had passed by once but never really got the opportunity to go there again. Maybe that would be the perfect place.
I decided to call her and tell her about the undecided plan that was just made suddenly by me without asking her at all. 'I hope she agrees!' I dialed her number and waited for her to pick up. I knew it was nearly night, but I just wanted to spend more time with her. She was really good company, and I found myself really enjoying myself when I was with her. There was that silly smile on my face.
"Hello?" I heard her hoarse voice. 'Was she sleeping?'
"Hi! Are you in bed already?" I was concerned. It was only 7 p.m., and she sounded sleepy. Was she okay?
"No, I'm at the fireplace. I'm just really cold! What's up?" She asked, and I found myself relaxed again, hearing she was fine.
"Uhmm, I was wondering if you would like to go out with me tonight." I asked hesitantly.
"You mean right now?" She asked and shouted.
"Yeah?" I replied slowly, knowing exactly that she would freak out.
"Ryan, I'm really cold. I don't think it's a good idea." She said it straight.
"Please, please, it's going to be fun! I promise you!" I pleaded with her, and I heard her sighed.
"Fine! It better be worth it." She said annoyed, and I smiled.
"I give you my word. See you downstairs in 5?" I said quickly, and she said a small okay and hung up.
I drove my car, a KIA SUV, which was more suitable for this weather. I arrived there and gave her a call, telling her I was downstairs. While waiting, I turned on the heater as she said she was freezing, and I did not want her to catch a cold because of me. Soon, both our exams were starting, so I definitely didn't want her to miss any papers. I looked out and saw her coming running in an oversized black quilted jacket with a pink beanie on her head. I chuckled at her look. 'She is cute!'. She quickly opened the door and got in, shivering.
"You'll be better in a moment; I just turned on the heater." I said, worriedly.
"This better be good or else I'll knock your head because no one in their sane sense would be out at this hour and this freezing weather." She said, annoyed at me, and tucked in her seatbelt. I laughed at her words and looked at her.
"Now what's the fun of being in control all the time? Snow was meant to enjoy it and not look at it from inside only." I said, chuckling at her, and she looked at me intently for some time, and then she smiled.
"Let's go then!" She said, getting comfortable in her seat. I turned on the engine and drove off.
Arriving there after 20 minutes of driving, I parked the car on the side of the hill and turned off the engine. The view was already in sight, and I heard Sarah's gasp, removing her seatbelt, and leaned forward to get a better look. I smiled at her and got out of the car. I went near the hood of the car and sat on it. I looked back through the windshield and signaled for her to come out with my hand. She came and attempted to climb next to me, but failed since she was shorter than me. I laughed and got down to help her climb up. I grabbed her waist and lifted her up, and she sat on the hood, making herself comfortable, and I got back on the hood next to her. She was looking at the view with delight. (Picture above)
"It's really beautiful!" she said after some time, and I nodded in agreement.
"It is indeed beautiful. I found that place a few months ago but never really got the chance to come back here, except for today." I finished my sentence by looking at her and admiring her without her actually having any idea that I was staring at her. Since she was so lost in the admiration of the view, I quickly and silently took out my phone and clicked a picture of her. She was looking so beautiful tonight, and now that her nose was a little red from the cold and she was really sitting close to me, I couldn't help but want to grab her and kiss her. I shook my head, smiled, and looked ahead at the view, and my gaze suddenly shifted to the moon above. It was the perfect full moon night, and it was making the entire view more beautiful. After some time, she said
"Thank you for bringing me here, Ryan! This place is so beautiful, and it was making me relax." She said with a big smile, and I was loving it.
"You're welcome! I just wanted to spend some time with you before finals and graduation. After that, my life will change, and I don't know if I will even get to see you or not." I said, sadly, and she nodded as well with a sad smile but quickly cheered herself up and said,
"Well then, we should really enjoy ourselves rather than being sad already." I nodded at her smilingly.
We talked about almost everything, like favorite stuff and all, and we laughed at each other as well. It was nearly 9.30 p.m. when we decided to return. I was making a move to climb down the hood when she stopped me and took out her mobile.
"To make it memorable, let's take a picture!" She said so happily and lifted her phone up in selfie mode, and she posed. I smiled behind her, and she clicked the picture.
"You're sending me that!" I said to her while climbing down and helped her as well.
"That I'll see if I want to!" She said with a smirk, and I shook my head at her, amused by her response.
While going back to her apartment, I saw a cute ice cream shop and stopped the car. She narrowed her eyes at me, asking me what happened, and I said, smirking.
"Have you heard the phrase overcome the cold with cold?" I asked her, and she slightly nodded her head, confused.
"Then what's the fun of roaming in snow without having ice cream?" I asked her, and she instantly smiled at me.
We got out and went to the ice cream parlor and ordered each other's favorite. I took the dark chocolate one, and she took the mint chocolate one, and we sat outside, enjoying ourselves and shivering as well. But it was really fun, and then again, she took a picture of us before we got back to the car. I dropped her off at her apartment; we said goodnight, and I waited till she got inside, and then I drove off. Heading back, I was really happy that I could spend some time with her and make her laugh and have fun with me. Now that I noticed it, she was becoming more and more comfortable with me, and I was loving it.
