The new recruit.

Taylor's phone buzzed in her hand. She stood up from the bed putting a shirt on.

"We have a mission." She shouted into the bathroom. Ward came out of the bathroom wearing nothing but a towel around his waist.

"Any specifics?" He asked.

"No." She replied bluntly, still shaken from the night before. Ward walks to where she stands.

"It wasn't your fault. Last night, I mean." He tried to assure her.

"You know that's not true. I have to leave." She states, starting to pack a bag.

"What? When? To where?" He bombarded her with questions.

"I'll go back to the Bus, say goodbye, grab my stuff and go." She explained.

"To where?"

"I don't know Grant. Wherever I go I put someone in danger, if not everyone." She explained.

"That doesn't mean you just leave." He started to change.

"Well, what else am I supposed to do?" She asked, helplessly. He sighed, defeated.

"I don't know but if you do leave. Just promise me you won't go back to them."

"I promise. I might go to a safe house or something." She reasoned.

"Okay, Why?" He asked, sceptically.

"If I went to Steve or Nat then they'd ask too many questions and Nat would go mad and go searching for answers if I told her what happened." She clarified.

"That makes sense, but you hate staying at safe houses by yourself." He reminded.

"It's tolerable, I'll try and think of others. Ah, maybe Hunter. I could go with them." She put forward.

"No, if Hunter knew he'd try and kill them single handedly." He told her.

"Good point. The safe house it is. Unless you have any ideas?" She challenged.

"Who's that guy who helped you out a couple years back? He seems nice." He joked.

"Cal? Oh, no I'm not that desperate." She replied, "But that just gave me an excellent idea."

"You've got someone in mind?"

"Not someone, somewhere." She stated, smirking.

Ward and Lee walked to the Bus. She was ready to have a break. They went up straight to Coulson's office.

"Hey Phil. I was hoping I could ask for some time off." She asked.

"Sure. Can I ask why?" He replied.

"Last night I put the whole team in danger because of my past. I'm detaching myself from anyone I can harm." She explained.

"Okay... that's logical. Are you coming back?" He queried.

"Yes, I will come back. Just give me a few weeks to a month at most. Just call me if absolutely necessary, but only use the SAT phone Ward has. It's an encrypted line." She adds. He nods and they walk down to her dorm to pack.

"I'll walk you out after you've packed." Ward told her. She went to her dorm and packed the rest of her stuff. She picked up the last photo frame. It was a picture of her, Hunter, Hartley and Idaho. They all went on a mission to Liverpool, England to stop some terrorists from blowing up the whole city. She looked at it and smiled to herself. "That was a good mission. Well, from what you've told me." She heard from behind her. It was Ward looking down at the same picture.
