Chapter 21: She actually fell for his evil tricks!

Everyone in the audience waited for Jungkook’s reply. Lisa watched him, unconsciously holding her breath.

Under the stares of a thousand watchful eyes, Jungkook leaned slightly toward the microphone. His deep, magnetic voice traveled through the speakers. “I’m giving my vote to Lisa because her performance moved me.”

No one expected that Jungkook would go ahead and immediately declare the result. Everyone had thought he would draw out the suspense before announcing his decision. At first, the spectators in the audience were shocked silent. Then they broke out in cheers.

“Congratulations Lisa for successfully advancing into the top 4!” The female presenter’s excited voice echoed across the stage, accompanying the audience’s applause. A buzzing began to ring in Lisa’s head.

The male presenter spoke, “Even though Jungkook has already declared the result, we still need to ask him to comment on the two contestants’ performances.”

Jungkook nodded and spoke,  “Ever since the beginning of this competition, Daisy has continued to perform her own original songs. I rather appreciate this aspect about her, even though in my opinion, the songs she has written are still lacking in many regards. The quality of her voice is also very good and unique. Right now, it is impossible to find a second female singer in the music circle with that kind of voice. However, her singing has one big flaw, or perhaps it can be called a bad habit.” He looked at Daisy, “You only sing for yourself to hear. You never try to emotionally resonate with your audience. The primary purpose of a song is to convey something to others. Even though you had thrown yourself into the song, your emotions were sealed tightly.”

Daisy simply nodded her head solemnly after listening to his words. Then Jungkook looked toward Lisa, causing her tense up with nervousness.

This time she didn’t have a symphony orchestra or a youth choir or fancy stage effects. At least he couldn’t fault her on those points again!

“Lisa is just like Daisy in that she also has a good voice. However, where she is completely different from Daisy is the fact that her singing can easily resonate with others. Her techniques aren’t the best, but her understanding of a song’s emotions and ability to convey them is the most impressive among all the contestants. Her performance just now moved the audience and also moved me.” There was a second of pause here, “However, I think you can be considered to have exceeded expectations today. This ability to balance technique and emotions, you definitely aren’t able to use at will.”

Lisa, “…”

The first half had really moved her! She had actually believed that Jungkook had finally turned over a new leaf! She actually fell for his evil tricks!

“Thank you for your comments Jungkook. Now that all our top 4 contestants have been chosen, let’s invite the other three contestants to also come on stage!”

Under the presenter’s direction, the four contestants stood together on the middle of the stage. The presenters enthusiastically made a concluding statement, drawing today’s competition to a satisfying end.

When Lisa returned backstage, Jihyo sincerely congratulated her. “I didn’t expect you would actually PK off Daisy! Next time during the finals, you must remember to help me take revenge by ruthlessly suppressing Eunha.”

Eunha coincidentally walked off the stage at that moment and smiled at the two of them before directly departing. Daisy returned backstage right behind Eunha. She cast Lisa a glance and also walked away.
