I had to talk Fred into giving Harry the Marauder’s Map. George was already on my side, but Fred was going to need some convincing. After Halloween and then the Dementors attacking him during that Quidditch game I now  have plenty of evidence as to why we should give Harry the map.

I talked to him about it at lunch. He wasn't happy, but he heard me out. Eventually George and I got him to agree to give him the map. He didn't say when, but he promised me that he would. I was grateful to him for that. Now Harry could have an upper hand on my cousin if he decided to come back into the castle.

It was nearly Christmas when they gave Harry the map. It was another Hogsmeade weekend and they stayed behind in order to give Harry the map without everyone there. I hung out with Lee, and we asked Cecilia to join us too. We waited for the twins at the Three Broomsticks. We didn't know how long they'd be so we didn't buy them any drinks.

When they arrived, they looked very happy and proud of themselves, which was good. "How did it go?" I ask.

"Good," says George, nodding. "He was very grateful and excited."

"You guys did the right thing," I say, looking at Fred now.

Fred sighs, "Yeah, I know we did. Now you can stop being so worried about Harry."

"Thank you, Freddie," I say, placing my hand on his knee and smiling at him, "I know you loved that map."

"Yeah, well, you were right. Plus, I've had it memorized for years. I didn’t really need it anymore."

When we arrived back at Gryffindor Tower that night, Harry didn’t look very happy at all. He even asked to speak to me alone, which was odd. He had never done that before. He started out by thanking me for talking Fred and George into giving him the map, and then he asked, "Did you know that Sirius Black is my Godfather?" I am silent in shock at this news. I had no idea about this. My silence caused Harry to speak again, "Did you know, Evangeline?"

"N-no," I say quickly, "I'm sorry Harry. I had no idea. If my mum knows she didn't tell me."

"I figured you didn't know," he says, nodding, "you would have warned me."

"I would have," I tell him, nodding now. "I'm so sorry. How did you even find this out?"

"I overheard some teachers talking about it at the Three Broomsticks. I was under my cloak so they didn't know I was there. I heard he was friends with my parents, and I knew he was the best man at their wedding, but they made him my Godfather. They trusted him deeply. They had to of, and he just betrayed them so easily."

I shrug, not really knowing what to say. I know  that what I do say isn't exactly comforting, "My extended family is insane, Harry. That's why my mother got out of it. It's not right, how they treat each other. And how they think is just out disgusting, with their Pureblood Supremacy and all. They all know how to play their part in it all too, that's how Sirius was about to pretend to be friends with your parents before showing his true colors. I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault," says Harry, looking down at his feet. "I'm just glad that you're not like that."

"Me too," I say, nodding. "I could have ended up in Slytherin. Could you imagine?"

"Not at all," he says, shaking his head in agreement.

We finished our conversation then, and he let me head back over to where Fred and George were sitting trying to brainstorm ideas off each other for products they could sell in their future joke shop. I loved watching them do this. They both get so excited. It was fun to watch them get so excited. It made me excited for them.

Cecilia wasn't with us. She was getting ready to head home for the Christmas Holidays. Lee is doing the same, and I know that I should be, but I know that it's not going to take me that long to get all of things together. I just wanted a little more time with Fred and George before I left.

"What do you think of this idea, Vangie?" Says George getting my attention and getting closer to me on the couch. Sliding so he's right next to me. The feeling of him so close to me right now is sending fire throughout my entire body. I'm hyper aware of how close he is to me. He continues talking like he doesn't have any effect on me at all, "This is for a sweet that we have been working on that gets you sick enough to get out of classes."

I pull myself together, acting like I didn't have trouble breathing with George so close to me. "That's great, but how long does it last? If I eat that I don't want to end up being sick all day. Maybe it should come with a second sweet that makes you stop being sick."

"That's actually not half bad, Vange," says Fred, sounding impressed. George scribbles my little note down on the parchment.

"See, this is why we keep you around," says George, who now placed an arm around me, giving me a little half hug. I laugh, sheepishly.

Christmas at the Tonks family house was quiet. It was just the four of us, and Dora showed up late, saying she lost track of time this morning. After dinner, mum and dad cleaned up and sent us kids to the living room to get out of their way. We sat on the couch together and she started asking about school and all of my friends.

"Fred and George think that Cedric Diggory has a crush on me," I say, rolling my eyes. She smiles wide.

"Cedric Diggory," she repeats the name, "I remember him. He was young when I finished school but even then I remember he was adorable. How is doing g?"

"He's great, I assume, we're not exactly close," I say, shrugging, "He's a Prefect, top of his class in all subjects, and he's the Seeker and the Captain of the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team."

"Oh wow," she says, sounding actually impressed. "And why do the twins think that he likes you?"

I let out an annoyed huff, "Because they swear they saw him looking at me one time, and they haven't let it go."

"Do you think he was looking at you?"

"No," I answered her quickly, and then I added, "he was probably looking at Harry. Everyone was looking at Harry that night. He had just been attacked by a Dementor on the train."

"That poor kid can't catch a break, can he?" She says with a sigh.

"I know, he can't have just one normal year," I say, sighing myself now. "And with our cousin on the loose now he's got more than just Dementors to worry about."

"I know," she says, "poor kid."
