A/N: Once again this chapter is gonna skip through time again kind of quickly.
Lee Jordan started a radio show called Potterwatch where he Gabe updates on Death Eaters and Voldemort and of course on Harry Potter. Of course no one had any true updates on Harry. We didn't know where he was or what he was doing or anything. When Remus found them, they were at Grimmauld Place, but they have since left.
I basically haven't left the flat above the shop since September, and it's nearly Christmas now. I've gone to visit my sister and my mum but other than that I don't go anywhere. They've heard from dad twice in the months he's been gone. I was just glad he was okay.
Bill and Fleur decided to have their first Christmas as a married couple between the two of them, so they didn't come home to the Burrow. George and I spent the first part of the day with my mum, my sister, and Remus. Dora was getting bigger every time I saw her. She was glowing. She was also very tired all the time.
Remus had sure stepped up. He needed to, after what he did to my sister, and I'm glad he's kept his word. They found out that they're having a boy. They haven't picked a name out yet though. I was happy and excited to become an Aunt. I was. But of course I was also scared at the same time.
It was getting very close to that year and a half mark. Every day I was getting closer and closer to finding out the truth. I tried not to dwell on it, but I couldn't help it sometimes.
Then we headed to the Burrow for dinner. Ginny was home for the Christmas Holidays. I was happy to see her. To see that she was safe. She told us all about Hogwarts and how it's been now that Snape is the new Headmaster.
"Snape isn't really that bad," she told us, "In fact, us students hardly even see him anymore. It's the Carrows you have to look out for."
"Who are the Carries?" Asks George.
"They're new professors," Ginny explains, "They're Death Eaters that Snape hired."
"What do they teach?" I ask.
"Defense Against the Dark Arts and Muggle Studies," she says, "they're insane. They try to make us use the Cruciatus Curse on first years."
"That's sick!" Fred exclaims.
"It is," she agrees, nodding, "Neville, Luna, and I are trying to start up Dumbledore's Army again, but we got caught and got detention. We had to go into the forest with Hagrid."
"Well that's not really a detention then, is it?" Fred jokes.
"We got lucky, that's for sure," she agrees, "I'm not as lucky as Luna is right now. She got taken off the train on the way here."
I gasp.
George's face loses color.
Fred exclaims, "What!"
"Yeah," says Ginny. "We don't know where she is. They took her right off the train. It was terrifying to watch."
"Luna is tougher than anyone gives her credit for," I remind her, "She'll be okay. Harry taught her how to defend herself."
"Yes he did," says George. "She's going to be just fine."
"Why did they take her?" Asks Fred.
Ginny shrugs, "Probably because her dad's magazine is highly supportive of Harry."
It was scary to think of sweet, little, Luna Lovegood kidnapped by Death Eaters. I didn't want to think of her getting tortured. My maniacal Aunt would probably be first to volunteer for that job. I had to force the image of that out of my head.
At dinner that night, Mrs. Weasley said she didn't want Ginny to go back to school, but she said that she didn't want Ginny to go back to school, but Mr. Weasley told her that it would look suspicious if she didn't since Ron isn't there already.
Before he left, Ron had apparently given the family ghoul a case of Spattergroit so if people came looking, they could pass the ghoul off as Ron. So far it's actually worked. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley said they were going to their Aunt Muriel's for the time remaining. It wasn't safe for them anymore. They asked the twins and I to come with them, but Fred and George told them that they were going to keep their shop open a bit longer, and I wanted to stay near my mum and my sister.
On Valentine's Day, George and I celebrated two years together as a couple. Fred was there, too, because we couldn't go anywhere. With the last names of Tonks and Weasley, it wasn't safe for us to go anywhere anymore.
A few weeks later, I started to feel off. My chest usually feels tight from stress these days, but now I have a constant upset stomach too. Sometimes I had bad headaches as well, which in turn made me feel weak, and very tired. I quickly figured out it might not be stress when my period was late. George and I are usually careful, but I'll admit we're not always careful. We've gotten pretty lucky I guess.
Until now.
It was mid-March when I went to visit my sister and my mum and I got Dora alone to ask her if my symptoms were similar to hers when she first got pregnant. She listened intently, nodding along as I rattled off my symptoms. "Yeah, that sounds about it. Have you taken any tests or anything? You should find out for sure."
"I haven't yet, no," I answer her.
"We've got to get you to a Muggle store, and quick. You can buy tests for these things right there. Come on, I'll go with you."
"You're not supposed to leave the house, Dora," I remind her.
"We'll be gone hardly 20 minutes," she assures me, taking my hand and apparating me to a store. She picks out a few of them for me and makes me go take them right here at the store while she pays for them. We wait the allotted time, which feels like a damn lifetime, and then we find out the truth.
There it was. Three different tests, all positive.
"Well, mum's not going to be very happy about it but I am!" She hugs me tight. "You're going to be a mum! Our kids are going to grow up together! This is so exciting!"
"Yeah," I say, trying to match her excitement and failing.
"You've got a Weasley in there. Oh Molly is going to flip! Her first grandchild! She's going to spoil it rotten!"
"I have to go tell George," I say, my tone serious.
"Right. Of course. You go, I'll tell mum you had to go. I want to know everything."
We hugged one more time and then we left. She went back to mum and I went back to George at the flat above the shop. They were both running around, looking frantic."
"There you are, sweetheart," says George looking at me. He walked over to me and kissed my head. "We can't stay here anymore. It's not safe. You can either come with us to Aunt Muriel's or you can go to your parents but you can't stay here."
I knew my choice without thinking about it. I needed to stay with the father of my baby. Once George knew, there was no way he'd let me out of his sight.
"I'm going wherever you go." I tell him. He nods.
"Well, go get your things together then, sweetheart."
When we arrived at Muriel's, it just didn't seem like the right moment to tell George about the baby. It was just hard. I thought about Trelawney's prediction, two children were coming into my now. My sister's baby, and now mine. That's one more part of the prediction coming true.
George fought for him and I to be able to share a bedroom. His mum didn't like the idea, but I'm the end she agreed to it when he reminded her that already shared one anyway. She made an off hand comment, saying, "You better not get Evangeline pregnant, George."
She meant it as a joke, but she had no idea.
Easter came and Ginny was brought here as well. With everyone here it was hard to get an alone minute with George to tell him. Before I knew it, it was nearly April.
Remus came over shortly after Easter. He came barring horrible news. They found some footsteps in the woods. There was a body though. My father's body. He was gone. Murdered by Death Eaters and left to decay in the woods alone.
I went to the bedroom that George and I shared as soon as Remus finished the story. George was at my side a moment later. He hugged me as I sobbed uncontrollably. We stayed like this for a good moment before I could finally speak again.
"George, I'm scared." I admit to him. "So much of Trelawney's prediction has happened already. First two children are coming into my life and now my father is gone."
"One child darling," says George, his tone soft.
"No," I say, shaking my head no to him. "George, I'm pregnant."
He gulps. He was certainly not expecting that. He doesn't say anything, so I continue.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. I just didn't really know how and we're never alone anymore with your whole family here."
"It's okay darling," he says, gripping me into another hug. "How long have you known?"
"Not that long, I found out the day we came here. Dora wanted to be there when I found out for sure."
He looks forward, I can't tell if he's happy about this or not. "Do you know when it happened?"
"My best guess is probably our anniversary. I don't know for sure."
"I really want to be happy about this," he looks at me again. "I really do. But with how dangerous everything is right now, this is absolutely terrifying."
"I totally agree," I tell him.
"First your sister has a kid with a werewolf and you have one with a Weasley. Goodness, the Death Eaters are going to love this when they find out." He pauses for a moment. "I can't believe it. We're going to be parents."
"We are," I say, nodding.
He smiles this time. He was starting to get excited about this. "We're going to be parents."
"We are," I say, matching his excited tone. He hugs me again.
"You're going to be parents?" Asked a voice. It was Fred. He was standing in the doorway. George let's go of me and we both look at Fred.
"Close the door," says George. Fred enters the room, closing the door behind him. "Yes, Vangie is pregnant. You can't tell mum. I don't think she should know just yet."
"Definitely not," Fred agrees. "Wow, you're having a baby. This is exciting."
A thought enters my mind, "Yeah, well, now my dad won't get to know either of his grandchildren."
"I know, sweetheart," he says, kissing the top of my head. "He would have been a great grandfather too."
"He was so excited when Dora told him about her baby," I say, smiling at the memory.
Fred sits next to me, George takes my hand in his and says, "He's watching over you now, you and Dora, and your mum."
I nod, agreeing, "He is."_______________
Here's part 32!I told you in chapter one this story was going to follow some basic fanfic tropes.
What more of a fanfic trope than a baby?
