...Movies?
"Uh-huh..Really? Well, I'm happy for you. Seriously, it's not everyday people find a strong connection." I replied, the best I could to Daichi over the phone. He continued to talk about how great the two of them hit it off and their plans for this weekend. "You are going to the party right?? You've missed out on the last two." I sighed as he reminded about another party that would probably be uneventful for me. "I don't know.." I heard a loud 'tsk' on the other side, "Please! You never go out anymore, I feel like all I ever see you do is study." I thought about it before trying to decline again, though Daichi wasn't going to take no for an answer. "Come on, just this once? If you do I'll...uh.. oh! I'll buy your lunches all next week!" I smiled slightly at my friends offer, I wouldn't mind that at all, free food was free food. "Fine, but I'll only go for a bit." I heard his smiled through the phone. "Hah! I'm glad man, you really should go have fun every now and then..Oh I have to go, the little lady's calling!" I rolled my eyes at his nickname for her, "See ya." Love is overrated.
I sipped on my coffee, searching for my keys to my dorm room, when a familiar voice called my name. I turned to see a brown-haired pretty boy with a grin. "Hey there Mr. Refreshing." I tilted my head, but waved, "Mr. Refreshing?" He nodded to my asking, "Yep, you are pretty refreshing to be around after all." I smiled slightly, "Thank you..?" He just smiled at me as I opened my door, "Well, did you need something?" I asked Oikawa who was looking at me with a cheerful gaze. "Actually, I just wanted to hang with you for a while if that's alright with you? Iwa-chan is in one of those 'Must kill Oikawa' moods today." We both walked in my room as I closed the door and we placed our things down, "Isn't he always in that mood?" He just shrugged at my question, "Eh sometimes it get tiring.." He admitted sheepishly.
He spun around in my desk chair as I came back from changing into more comfortable clothing. In all honesty, he looked like an adorable-bored puppy, and when he looked up at me, his eyes brightened up, "Took you long enough!" I playfully rolled my eyes, "I was only gone for a few minutes." He stuck his tongue out while getting up from his spinning, a bit dizzy, as he stumbled slightly. I held onto his side as he got adjusted to being up. He gave me a sheepish smile, "Sorry, guess I got up too fast." I waved it off, "It's fine.. but um, what did we want to do today? If you're going to be here for a while, yes?" I asked, grabbing a water from my mini fridge, offering Oikawa one as well. He opened his bottle, drinking some before responding, "Well, I was thinking we could go see a movie?" I was a bit taken aback before looking at him with an unsure gaze. I hadn't noticed, but I had a light tint on my face, though if I did notice, I couldn't say why it was there. "Depends, what movie?" He smiled, "Glad you asked." He replied, opening his phone and began to show me a few options.
We bought our tickets and headed to the snack counter. I hadn't been to a movie theater in so long, it was a weird feeling to be out of my dorm room. The area was filled with a buttery popcorn smell, mixed with different snack items. As I looked around I noticed how empty it was, only a few others in line, and the workers, but there weren't as many people as I thought there would be here. I shrugged it off, people probably had Netflix and Hulu, easier access I guess. "Hey, Mr. Refreshing??" I met his eyes, he looked excited and curious. "What did you wanna eat? I'm paying since you got the tickets." I thought for a moment, "Just popcorn and a soda for me, oh and we can share, I don't mind, but add butter." I replied before I heard my phone buzz, "Ah, I'll be right back, got a call." He nodded for me to answer it, I stepped a bit out of line to answer. "Hello?" I asked as my eyes dancing around Oikawa ordering our snacks. "U-uh hey? Suga? Tell me that's not really you going on a date with the Great King..?" I immediately looked around and spotted an orange-haired boy hiding behind the claw machine not too far from here. "Hinata? What are you doing here?" He waved awkwardly, "So you two really are on a date?" I turned a slight shade of pink, I hadn't really thought of it until now, but it did seem like a date. "No, we're just here cause he was bored, but seriously, are you stalking me or what?" I replied, the last part in a joking tone. "Wh-what! I'm not stalking you! I swear! I was just with Kageyama, I begged him to come watch that new scary movie with me cause I was scared.." I let out a small laugh, shaking my head, "I was kidding, but go enjoy the rest of your day Hinata, it was nice to see you though." He nodded as we waved to each other, ending the call as I headed back.
I smiled softly as I watched Oikawa try and grab all the items, clearly failing. "Need help?" I asked, apparently surprising him, as he looked back, stunned, before nodding. "Yes please!" I nodded, grabbing the two drinks as Oikawa took the bucket of popcorn. He smiled at me as we approached the the employee working the ticket area. "Tickets please!" She said cheerfully as she looked up at us, blush creeping up on her face. "Hey Oikawa can you grab them for me? They're in my jacket pocket." I asked sheepishly, though he just nodded and found them, handing the tickets to the lady, "A-ah thank you! You two are in theater 11..Also you two are very handsome.." She mumbled the last part, which I barely heard, but Oikawa heard all too well as he sent her a flashing smile, getting the other ends of the tickets. "Why thank you, you are very pretty yourself darling~" He replied, waving goodbye to her as she tried her best not to squeal. I internally cringed at his playboy attitude, honestly though, it was a bit terrifying how he could just switch his personality like that. I'm assuming he read my face, because once we found some good seats in the theater, he commented,
"Like a light switch, huh?" with a stunning yet sad smile.
