The next morning Isaiah came to walk with me to the William's house, guilt fills me.
"Eloise is everything ok? You seem awfully quiet," Isaiah says.
"I'm just a little tired, I didn't sleep well last night," I say, feeling more guilty for lying to him.
"Then why are you working? Eloise..."
"Isaiah, I promise I'm fine. I can make it through today," I give him a convincing smile and he nods smiling back.
"Alright, I believe you know what you're talking about, but no working too hard, ok?" He asks, as we stop in front of the house.
"Ok". I whisper back.
"That's my girl," he smiles and gives me a quick kiss. "I'll see you at break?
"Yes, 'Ill see you then," I give him one last kiss and head inside the house. I get everything ready and chuckle when once again James chooses coffee.
"Told you it was good, father," Elijah says as he takes a seat at the table. His hazel eyes connect with mine and I blush, quickly looking away. I shouldn't have kissed him yesterday, my heart shouldn't be fluttering the way it is. I'm with Isaiah, so why is my heart trying to betray me?
"Here you are", I say softly as I hand him a muffin, his coffee already waiting for him.
"Thank you Eloise," he smiles and I smile back and decide to get started on my chores.
"Oh Eloise," Elijah will be helping you with your chores today, Hazel says, I enter the dining room shocked.
"May I ask why?"
"James and I thought it would be a good idea to show Elijah the hard work behind what he takes for granted," Hazel informs me.
"May I ask, what made the two of you think of that?"
"Oh well Elijah and I were talking yesterday and he made a comment that made me come up with the idea," James explains and I nod.
"Very well, then I shall wait until you are done to get started." Faster than I would like it to be, breakfast ended and James was already walking out the door for work.
"So what do we do first? Elijah asks.
"Dishes," I answer, he nods and collects the dishes and heads over to the sink. We begin to wash the dishes.
"Eloise, about yesterday." He begins and I blush.
"Yes about that, Elijah, I can't. I'm with Isaiah, he doesn't deserve that," I hiss.
"Which I understand but Eloise you can't deny that there was a spark", he says and I turn to see the light in his eyes.
"Do you feel that spark with Isaiah?"
"That's none of your business," I say turning away from him. He gently grabs my hands and intertwines them with mine, the bubbles from the soap between our fingers.
"Eloise, you can't deny what we have", he says and I find that a part of me wants to believe him but Isaiah.
"No Elijah, its wrong", I whisper as I take my fingers out of his grasp and continue to wash the dishes.
