The golden city was as crowded as ever, the tapping of drums and hype of the people chimed throughout the streets as proud as ever in the aftermath of the Tribal sports festival. King T'challa always told him that these events were uplifting to the morale of the people, and today it was apparent to Jai that this was none other than truth.
Though he was reluctant, he dressed himself in a violet dashiki with gold lining upon its cuffs; though with as snug as it fit he was considering not wearing it, his biceps were practically bursting at the seams due to his toned physique. His black pants slim as he was, but fit to comfort by the royal designers, his sandals were hand woven from vibranium radiated trees. He dressed like a royal, even though in his heart he wasn't. He checked the Kimoyo beads upon his wrist clicking them to project a small interface of the time which read: '2:30 pm'.
"Where is she?" he grumbled. It was bad enough he had to look upon her smug face after losing to her, but his last transmission from Naomi before leaving the palace was that she wanted to be treated to one of the fanciest establishments in the city, which even further soured his mood. He paced back and forth waiting in front of the weaving shop, a sonic train passing by twisting debris in front of him prompting him to dust his short cut hair and re-check his clothes for to ensure their remained pristine appearance.
Impatient as ever he finally tapped his beads once more initiating a call back. The beads rung for a brief moment before Naomi picked up on the other end. "Hellllo?" She answered, all smiles while her projection appeared just above his beads, her locks neatly twisted and tied back.
"Yea where are you?" he asked staring at the hologram.
"Right here!"
"AH!" He jumped as she suddenly appeared behind him leaning forward, hands clasped behind her back. Oils shining off her delicate mocha melanin, the arms of her patterned kente dress that stopped at her knees lightly hanging off her shoulders. Jai's once over of her appearance was becoming transparent from the grin she that grew while twisted her hips side to side. He quickly had to save face, "Almost thought you didn't want lunch since you weren't on time." he snarked.
"That is a strange way of saying 'you look nice' Jai!" She huffed, mood ruined while she crossed her arms.
"Maybe I would have said it if you were on time." he shrugged.
"Whatever, let's just get this over with." Walking forward pushing him aside by his shoulder to go ahead of him. He couldn't help but watch her walk off, her toned figure spoke to his pubescent woes, and he had to restrain himself from staring too long and followed suit catching up to her quickly.
The rail stop was up ahead, and due to Naomi's tardiness the pair had to wait for the next to come by, which in this land was every fifteen minutes during the day light hours. Naomi purposefully sat on the opposite end of Jai, putting her head on her hand and leaning off to the side turned away from him, one leg crossed over another, so he decided to do the same though an awkward silence wasn't what he had in mind for a congratulatory lunch, even though he hardly wanted to be here.
