"Because what's worse than knowing you want something, besides knowing you can never have it?"
― James Patterson, The Angel Experiment

Thomas swallows his food and quickly pats his best friend's back as he laughs. The other students are now looking at them with their mouths wide open.

Loving the attention he gains, Thomas winks at some of them, and their faces become almost as red as a tomato.

Suddenly the door opens and there comes a brunette that never fails to make Zach's heart flutter whenever he sees her. This is the first time Zach ever gets close to the girl ever since she confessed her hatred towards him.

"...what in the world is going on here?"

Zach's whole body freezes as if he doesn't know what to do. He doesn't even want to move an inch as he looks at his enemy who is glaring like she is going to eat him.

He quickly shakes his head not wanting to look like a weakling, then proceeds to look at the brunette in front of him.

"Your Highness, to what do I owe the pleasure?" He smirks as he bows a little and puts his hand on his chest just like how people used to greet the royals in the past.

"Shut up, I need to talk to you--in private," The brunette replies. He smirks, he doesn't know how he gains the confidence but he is grateful for it.

"Why? Are you afraid that I might do something inappropriate to you, princess?" He whispers with his husky voice as he stands in front of the girl. He had to bend a little so that they are in the same height.

Jasmine could feel that her cheeks is getting red so she quickly cover it.

Zach smirks. Other people might look at him and thought that he is a cool guy but deeply, his heart is beating so fast that he is afraid he would pass out any moment now.

"No, I'm afraid you will get beaten up in front of everyone and that you'll die with so much embarrassment on your shoulder" She replies.

Zach could hear 'oooh' and 'burn' from some male student but it stops when Thomas looks at them.

"I think both of you can talk here, besides we don't want your boyfriend to make a scene just because of  you talking to the president-in private" Thomas breaks the silence. Sometimes, Harry can be quite possessive.

Last year at the school dinner's event, they had a fight. None of them realized that the VIP's was there along with Zach's family and other major stockholders. There are more than hundreds of people there and it was enough for both of the family to be ashamed.

Zach had to handle more than 200 paperwork for his father because of that, including the fact that it had to be handwritten.

"It was not Harry's fault last year that you are being punished by your father. Just admit that it was all yours right, president?" Jasmine smirks.

Although deep down, Jasmine knows that both of them are being childish at that time but of course she had to defend Thomas. After all, he is her boyfriend.

"Well, your boyfriend is not a very tough boy now, is he. Well- at least my hand got the taste of his body, what about you?" Zachary said, not regretting any words that comes out of his mouth. She wants to play the games, so be it.

It has been almost a year since Jasmine and Harry got into the relationship but the brunette still is not ready to do any of it. She's glad that Harry didn't mind.

Glancing at his silver watch that his grandmother gave him, he grows impatient and decides to talk first before he heads out to the next class.

"Fine, you want to talk? Meet me at the Student Council Room, 2 pm sharp." He says. Despite being so close to the brunette, Zach is able to calm himself.

"Whatever, good-for-nothing boy." She says stomping out of the cafeteria after she straightens her skirt. She walks out of the cafeteria like nothing happened between both of them just now.

"That little- I can hear it, you know!" Zach shouts at her. He puts his hand on the table and try to calm down.

"Woah, that was intense. She only said like 3 times but she got you burn Z!" Thomas laughs as he says that, then continue eating the croissant which is his favourite.

"Ha. Ha. Very funny. You should hurry up you slowpokes, don't you have class?" He tightens his tie, ready to move on.

Some people might think it's just a small gesture but for Zach, it is important. For him, to handle a company means to have discipline and by not doing his tie, it clearly shows that he is not good enough to handle such a great empire.

Just like Oscar Wilde said,
"A well-tied tie is the first serious step in life."
