The BBQ had commenced, and everyone in the small neighborhood came. Everyone talked with Edward, and welcomed him to the place. Others admired his work, while some said they could help him with his "condition." Y/N however, stayed up in Kevin's tree house, away from everyone else. She stared bored eyed, as her mother laughed and smiled. How much fun it looked she was having. A small smile crept onto Y/N's features, as her fingers fiddled with the two rings that hung around her neck.

"Y/N? Are you ok?" Looking down, she nodded to Edward.
"Yeah, I'm good. Hold on, I'll be down." And Y/N got down from the tree house, joining Edward. "Are you hungry? Want to go get something from the table?" Edward smiled, nodding his head. Y/N heart squeezed out of pure cuteness the boy showed. Grabbing his wrist they made their way towards the food table. They ate crackers, a few grapes, and shared a cup of apple juice.
"Y/N? Who is this?" Turning, she came face to face with her mom. It surprised her for a moment.

"Er-This is Edward. Edward this is my mom-" Y/N's mom cut her off.
"Ruby. Nice to meet you Edward." She smiled, walking away, but not before whispering something to her daughter.
"Y/N? Are you feeling ok? Your face is going red." Edward moved his scissor blades towards Y/N's cheek before pulling away. They talked with each other before Mr. Boggs took Edward to use his scissors as shish kabob sticks.

Sighing, Y/N debated on staying outside with everyone else or go inside and play on Kevin's Sega game gear. Not wanting to disappoint, she stayed outside. Turning to look at Edward she saw Joyce and other women shoving the food they made in his mouth. He made a face, as if he didn't like something they fed him, but still nodded his head in agreement that he liked it. Y/N snickered, making her way back to him. Bill came over as well, raising up Edward's arms.

"Okay, grab your plates. Soups ready!" Edward looked confused.
"Ithoughtthesewereshishkabobs." He tried saying, but it all came out muffled and you couldn't understand a single word.
"What?" Edward swallowed some of the food he had in his mouth before speaking again.
"I though these were shish kabobs" Y/N grabbed a napkin, wiping his mouth, telling him it was a form of figurative speech and to not take everything literal.

The following day, it was eerily quiet in Y/N's house. Usually her mother would have woken her up early to start the day, but she had woken at 12:16 pm. Walking out to the kitchen, she found a note written by her mother. She was at the store. Yawning, Y/N served herself breakfast, eating slowly. She felt uncomfortable as if she had slept on concrete.
Note to self: Sleep on the floor. I heard it's good for your back.

She was sucked out of her thoughts when she heard banging on the door. Wondering who was at the door, Y/N got up and unlocked the door. Upon opening, she saw it was Peg's daughter Kim.
"Can I help you?" Kim, without asking, barged in and started ranting about how shitty her night was.
"And my mom really thinks it's ok for her to bring a complete stranger here to live at our house! I'm not cool with that!" She screamed. Y/N nodded, not listening to a word she was saying.

They had been friends when they were younger, but after Y/N had found out Kim spread rumors about her and her family, Y/N punched her and ended their friendship. Yeah, she definitely wasn't going to forgive her for that. Not to mention she had also stolen money and her crush from her.
"All I'm asking is that she find another place for him. Or to fix his hands."
"There's nothing wrong with his hands. He's perfect the way he is. Now if you please, leave my house. I never invited you in." Kim scoffed, walking out the door.

Y/N sighed, washing her dish and laid on the couch. This was a very boring day. However, she dreaded tomorrow. School; what a nightmare. But it was mandatory in her household. Her father would always joke about school, but he had made it very bearable. There was another knock at the door, causing Y/N to get frustrated. She got up and swung open the door only to find Edward standing at the door.

"Is everything alright, Y/N?" He asked, concern in his voice. Was he concerned about her or about how she was angered and alone?
"Y-Yeah! I'm fine. Is everything alright with you?" She smiled, slightly.
"I was wondering if you wanted to join me. While I work on Joyce's garden?" Y/N nodded, grabbing a bottled water, and off they took.
"Why were you mad?"
"...Kim came by and well- she wasn't invited. That's something that annoys me. It's like everything has to be about her. Once it's not, she throws a tantrum."

Y/N watched as Edward worked on two Swans. He was a natural, and it made Y/N envious of his talent. But what made her jealous was when Joyce had tried to flirtatiously ask him if he wanted a glass of lemonade. However, even some as perfect as Edward had trigger words. He had thrown up, causing Y/N to laugh, as Joyce sent daggers at her.
"I'll take you home now. Good-bye Joyce. Thank you for the drinks." She smiled, leading Edward towards the front of the house. Opening the bottled water, she helped him take a drink.

"Are you alright? Feeling lightheaded? Or anything?" Edward shook his head, smiling at her. They walked side by side until they reached Peg's house.
"Won't you come in?" He asked.
"I have to get home to help my mom. I'll be at school tomorrow so, don't come looking for me at my house. I'll be back around 2:30. Bye." Y/N waved, before jogging home. His smile, the way he worried about her, how her name rolled off his tongue.

"OUCH!" Lost in thought, Y/N had failed to realize there was a lamp post in front of her. She was thankful that there weren't people out. But it still hurt like a bitch.
One thing was for sure, Y/N had some feelings for Edward, but she was failing to see them. Oblivious, just like her father. One thing that her mother loved about her husband.

"I'm home!" Looking around, she saw that the groceries were on the table, but one thing was missing. And that was her mother. She didn't know where she was. Thinking she had gone to run some other errands, Y/N decided to take a nap, and wait for her mother to come home.

WHAT UP RUBBER DUCKS!!!
I know, I know. I've been gone for awhile. But school is almost over. I have one more week and then summer vacation. However, that does not mean faster updates as I am very forgetful and lose interest in things very easily. Writing books, i've lost interest in it multiple times, but it helps me escape reality and write what I want to write. I'll still update, but they'll be slow. Please be patient with me and the slow updates. Hope you like this part, it's a bit shorter than the other one.
