Saiki rolled his eyes at his friends as they yelled and talked over each other wanting an explanation.

Saiki didn't comment until they calmed down. It was amusing to see their reactions though. He didn't think they'd be that worried, after all, everyone misses school at least once. Though it probably was strange that someone who usually never misses school actually misses it for once.

He could hear their overlapping thoughts. Mostly Kaidou's stupid theories about wether or not the 'real' Saiki had been kidnapped by the dark reunion. Kuboyasu was conflicted, on one side he really liked this 'new' side of Saiki he was seeing while the other was concerned. This was nothing like their Saiki. Sure they looked and sounded the same but the look in his eyes and even his aura according to Mikoto had changed. He emitted this dangerous energy that both made everyone intrigued but also want to get far, far away at the same time.

Like seeing a cute little baby bear in the woods but knowing in the back of your mind that it's mother is somewhere nearby.

It was the underlying fear that really stuck out to him. Saiki was entertained, none of them had ever feared him like this before. Toritsuka maybe but those times he was being nice. They likely would never talk to him again if they saw what he did earlier that day.

"So what? I missed school once and now you're all on my ass about it?"

"Woah!"

"What did you just say?"

Clearly none of them expected the swear. Saiki was the kind of person who didn't usually swear. In fact he actively seemed to be against swearing at all. That's why they usually didn't swear around Saiki, Nendo being the exception because he's not the brightest. Saiki never swore which was the current problem. He rolled their eyes at them, who didn't swear at least once in their life?

"Oh no, god forbid I swear. You're acting like it's the end of the fucking world"

"Saiki!"

Saiki scoffed.

Kuboyasu was acting like a mother. He acted as if he doesn't swear, plus Saiki did it much less then the purple haired boy did. Saiko stood in the corner grumbling about Saiki's attitude change. It was funny actually. Sometimes Saiki didn't think he cared about anyone. Though he did appreciate the bag of sweets Saiko left on his desk in an attempt to get him back to normal. He'd finished his lollipop a few minutes ago and greatly appreciated the chocolate in the bag. That meaning he was currently eating it.

"I said 'fuck' so what? Kuboyasu, you cuss like a sailor but the second I do it-"

"This isn't like you Saiki"

"I barely talk to you.. how would you know?"

Teruhashi absolutely could not be with some 'bad boy' character, they just weren't as appealing to her.

She couldn't tell wether or not she actually liked this slight shift in personality. On one hand, she really liked Saiki but on the other he would damage her reputation. But Saiki could protect her, she could just imagine some creep coming onto her and Saiki beating him up for her. That was appealing to her despite her usual aversion to people like that. It was strange. Saiki was grossed out by her thoughts but otherwise ignored it.

"Saiki-kun, eating so many sweets isn't good for you"

"I don't care"

Teruhashi was shocked. This was the first time anyone had ever used such a harsh tone when speaking to her. It wasn't all that harsh in Saiki's opinion, it was the truth after all. Saiki didn't even seem to care which she found both very attractive and rude and she had no clue why. Clearly she had some issues she needed to work out. Saiki calmly picked at his nails as Kuboyasu scolded him. It was his calm manner that was the most unsettling. His voice and eyes completely devoid of emotion as he spoke to them.

The next day Saiki came to school as usual, luckily his next 'mission' would start after school so he wouldn't miss any more lessons. He had about twenty minutes to get home, change and get to where he was supposed to be. None of their other classmates asked about where he was Monday. Then again they were all background characters and had no purpose on this story.

"Hey Saiki!"

The pink haired boy rolled his eyes as Mikoto, Toritsuka and the rest of their friends came up to him. All smiling as if nothing had happened the other day.

"We're all going to Cafe Mami and then the mall after school. Wanna come?"

"I have plans"

"You never have plans"

"Well I do today"

"Next time then"

Then they backed off and went to class like normal human beings for once. Saiki slipped his germanium ring on before class started. It was so he could concentrate on class instead of the idiots around hims thoughts.

——————

"You put what on him?!"

"Don't worry Perv, it's just a little tracker. Don't you wanna see what he's doing today?"

"You can't just use your crystal ball?!"

"That's boring~"

Toritsuka and a few of the others were torn. Saiko wasn't there because of a family thing and neither was Nendo. On one hand they thought it could be important and don't want to intrude on something personal. However on the other hand this was Saiki, he never went anywhere and never wanted to go anywhere other then Cafe Mami and school. What could he have possibly chosen to do over hang out with his friends?

Certainly it couldn't have been that important. Right?

"How'd you even do it without him realizing?"

"I did it when Teruhashi started talking to him"

"And?"

"The kokomin's found them and started being nuisances"

Toritsuka nodded along. He had to admit it was a good plan.
