"You want to help reform Henry Stickmin and Ellie Rose?" Mrs. Amari, our guidence conselour, asked.
"Yes. It's my calling," I explained
"What makes them so special to you?" She asked.
"They aren't beyond repair. The Toppats, however, are," I said.
"Do you have an idea on how to reform them?" She asked.
I opened my mouth, but no words came out.
"Excactly. Come back to me when you have an idea," she said, going back to work.
"Mrs. Amani, it's truly now or never! If I leave them without some sort of outlet for more than two months, something is going to go wrong!" I said.
"Mr. Calvin, I can't help unless you have a plan," she said.
"Mrs. Amani, with all due respect, this needs to happen now. I know damn well that you do that you hate seeing unapologetic students over and over again," I said.
"That is not language I'd like to be hearing from our student council president!" She said, shocked at my wording choices.
"I apologize for my language, miss. However, I'm not sorry for what I'm fighting for," I said.
"Mr. Calvin." She folded her hands together and looked up at me, "Make a plan on how to reform Henry Stickmin and Ellie Rose, then I will hear you out."
"Mrs. Amani-"
"That is all I'm going to say on this manner, now I kindly request that you leave my office," she said.
"Mrs. Amani hear me ou-"
"Mr. Calvin, I said get out of my office," she said, pointing to the door.
I sighed, and walked out. Maybe I went too far on that one. Mrs. Amani's question got me thinking, why do I care so much? I guess I'm just tired of seeing my childhood best friend becoming the way he is.
I began to get flashbacks to when we were just seven. Henry used to always tell me how he would finally get into the government and get his father arrested for all of the crimes he committed. I guess that was what got me wanting to work in that area as well, except rather as a pilot. My heart ached as I thought about these memories. My friend has become this monstor and it's all because of his dad coming back and infulencing him. Everyone in my town collectively agreed they hated Henry Stickmin's father. It got to be so much that no one really addressed him by his first name, and eventually we all forgot it.
I looked down at the ground and whispered, "Please, please let me help you Henry."
If only I had a plan to pitch to Mrs. Amani.
Wait..
I ran back into her office, "Mrs. Amani, I have a plan."
