"What the hell happened over here?" I asked, running into Mrs. Amani's office.

"Henry damn near killed me!" Mrs. Amani said.

You wouldn't believe me if I told you about her facial expression. My instincts kicked in as a ran over to her, got down on her level, and hugged her.

"It's gonna be alright," I said.

"I don't need a hug, just go hunt down Mr. Stickmin," she said, getting up and dusting off her skirt.

I began to leave the office when she shouted, "And make sure to thank Ms. Rose for me, for holding Mr. Stickmin back."

I nodded and ran towards the spot where him and Ellie normally hung out. Instead of them leaning up against the wall, they were sitting down. Ellie had her hand on Henry's shoulder, as if she was comforting him. What the hell would he need comfort for?
I discarded the question and ran over to them.

"What the hell happened back there?" I yelled.

Ellie turned her head and gave me a look of, 'Go away before I rip your face off.'

Yeah, I'm not dying today. I dusted off my left shoulder as I walked back into the school to do my rounds of checking on the club rooms. I looked down at my watch, it was 2:30. It seemed too quiet in the school for it to be 2:30. This was a free period where everyone would either go to study halls or just hangout with people.

I walked into the cooking club room, which Lila was the leader of. She was making her favorite dessert, chocolate fudge. I made a small knock on the door frame. She looked up and her face immediately lit up.

"Charlie! Ooh, you're just in time, I made some fudge!" Lila smiled, picking up her plate of fudges and walking over to me.

"Those look delicious!" I said.

"Take one, I promise they're not posioned," she said, jokingly.

"If you insist."

I took a square fudge off of the glass platter and took a bite. As always, her baking never manages to fail. The fresh, hot, chocolate just melted in my mouth.

"This tastes amazing!" I exclaimed.

"You want another?" She offered.

"No thanks, others need to try this," I declined.

She sat the platter down on the island counter before turning around with a certain look on her face.

"Oh god, what's that look for?" I asked, slightly panicked.

"I need to know why you're so invested in helping Henry. This is a sudden thing, he basically fell off the planet, I don't know, sixth grade?" Lila said.

I sighed, "He's my childhood friend. I can't let him throw his life away like this."

"I honestly think there's something more to it," she said.

"Huh? What do you mean?" I asked.

"I'm saying that there's more to it than you might think," she said, going back to cutting the fudge cubes.

"Delilah Tatiem Alexandra," I said in a serious tone.

"Oh shit, he pulled the full name card," she said to herself.

"Lila, I'm being serious! Give me a reason!" I said.

"How about no?" she said.

"Delilah!!" I whined.

"Fine, you want to know?" She snapped.

"Yes!" I said.

"I don't think you're gonna like it," she teased.

"Just tell me the fucking reason!" I said.

"Oh damn, okay! Okay!" Lila said.

She put the whisk down and clean up the area before leaning on the counter.

"I think it's because you have feelings for him, romantic feelings."
