It was only fifteen minutes when Matthew made it to David's house, and it was rather a mansion-sized house. However, it was just a three-story building looking like Matthew's house but another added layer of a third level. There was a three-stairstep leading to the door with a small fence between two pillars in front of a window next to the door. A two-doorway garage was installed next to the front door.
Matthew walked up to the front porch to give a small knock on the door. But the door opened to see David opening it from within. Behind him, Brandon was standing behind him.
"Come on by to meet a new friend I've met about a month ago?" asked David.
"That's how long ago you've known him?" asked Matthew.
"Come on in," said David, widening the door for his childhood friend to enter the three-story house.
Matthew entered the house to see statues, paintings on the high walls and a staircase leading up to the higher sections of the house. It was designed in such a lavish design of dragon paintings and dragon sculptures hanging on the walls and curtains and tapestries make the house's interior look like walking in a door transporting centuries back into medieval times.
"Not one thing changes in here. So many dragons everywhere. I can't tell if this is meant to keep 'evil spirits' away or that you are too obsessive with dragons, David."
David led them straight to the living room on the right side of the front entrance. The area wasn't cluttered with dragon décor but with a pleasant view of silver and white coloring on the walls. A few fake plants in baskets stood on wall stand next to closed windows. Two large sofas stood on two opposite ends of two walls, and each sofa was cornered by two loveseats or a single leather chair.
On one of the sofas, Sarah was sitting beside another person: a boy of twelve or thirteen. He was about the same size of David with was very tanned-skinned and an oval-shaped face. Dark brown hair twirled around his forehead, and his eyes flashed of a dim green.
They both were talking about different random things at once before switching to a different subject in seconds. One second, they talk of colors and the next second was about animals.
Then Sarah turned her eyes toward the three boys walking into the room. He waved up her hand with a bright smile, and her actions made the strange boy sitting close to her look in her direction.
"I take it you are the new friend wanted me," said Matthew.
The boy only nodded his head in response.
Matthew only blinked in a response back, and David walked into the room to sit on a single leather chair meant for one person next to Sarah. "Well, your father already told you about him, so I'll introduce you both. Matthew, this is Joe. Joe, this is Matthew. He is the one we told you about. The one who can do those things all humans can't do."
"Is it possible you show me some of that... power you wield?" asked Joe.
"Sure, why not? If they trust you, then why shouldn't I?" asked Matthew. Matthew lit up his right hand and sparked a small flame. Its color sparked of a golden red ruby burning with a cemented, volcanic crisp.
"Wow!" is what Joe could only say when he first glimpsed at Matthew's use of igniting a spark inside someone's house and no fire alarm was sounding. "So, this is the power of a person who doesn't even know the meaning of its origin."
"I don't know how I can even do this, but I can. Sarah tried scanning with a technological scanner, but the scanner never picked up a high-reading analysis on this small blaze of fire." Matthew ceased his blaze of fire from his hand and let down his arm down.
