Reader POV

Atsumu had dropped me off home soon after our date. I kind of want to cry at all he said. He was right, I had been avoiding everything. I always avoid everything. I don't even think I'm doing anything to help much with my anxiety. I just let it get the best of me without doing much and then I blame it on anxiety. I want to cry but then that's just letting the anxiety get the best of me.

"Okay!" I say while shaking my head.

"I just need to try harder for myself. I need to try harder so I can just live life. I need to try  l harder for my mom and Atsumu too." I say while getting ready for bed.

As I go to bed I think about some random things. It's funny to think about how great things came to be you know. My moms happy with Akira when it all started out on some idiot high school boy who left her with a kid, I started as a lazy person who wanted to help my mom but could never commit to it and now I even have a job, Atsumu started off as a jerk and well... yeah, I started off as a girl eating in the gym who left crumbs... I should apologize for that but now I sit at the table with all my new friends. I started off as someone who didn't even do anything about their anxiety until I received a book from Atsumu. ha. I wouldn't have gotten the courage to get that job if I hadn't thought about Atsumu's words either and I wouldn't be sitting with my friends if it weren't for Atsumu since he wanted me to be their manager. He's bought me dinner among other things. hm....

The next day I woke up and just went on about my regular things. I said goodbye to my mom while I left for school. Atsumu came late so I was the one who put all the chairs where they should be. He came rather late to class but he gave me a little head pat when he walked past me. Just as most schools have it, then came lunch.

"L/N. Over here." Suna says.

I walk over to my usual lunch table and I greet everyone as I normally do. Atsumu isn't nowhere to be soon as I look around the lunchroom without getting up to see if I can spot him.

" 'Tsumu will be back, do not worry. He went to talk to the coach about stuff." Osamu says but I feel like that was more of a tease than anything.

"Oh! Thank you." I say going back to my lunch.

As I'm eating I can feel the stares of Kita, Aran, Suna and Osamu but once I look up they're just doing something else but not subtly. They're not good at hiding their curiosity.

"What's wrong guys?" I ask a bit concerned.

No one answers for a bit until Aran decides to break the ice.

"We were just wondering about the date."

Oh

"You guys knew about the date?" I ask.

" 'Tsumu isn't one to keep his mouth shut about certain things." Osamu says jumping in.

'I feel a bit awkward here.' I say to myself.

"Well it was just a normal date pretty much. We ate and read some stories."

"I'm surprised he didn't take you to play volleyball to just watch him play." Osamu says.

"Wow, you don't have any faith in your brother when it comes to dates?" I say jokingly with a smile.

"No."

"Oh."

"He did come back sweaty and red like he had just ate a pepper. He avoided my questions and he didn't even stay to watch the volleyball match that was on television. We all know something big happened when 'Tsumu doesn't want to do anything concerning volleyball."

"I see." I say looking down.

"Hey guys. I was thinking about maybe giving something to Atsumu, like a thank you gift, maybe an object. I was thinking about all he has done for me and I thought it would make him feel happy." I say excited.

I can tell the guys aren't too keen on my idea but don't want to break the news to me.

"Well that's an idea. 'Tsumu does like gifts, you're right there but.... when it comes to delicate matters like you I don't think he would want an object or something like that."

"I understand."

I feel Osamu still staring at me as I look away. It's a bit quiet until Osamu finally speaks.

"What do you want to be in your life? Once High School is over what will you do?"

"Well... I don't really have motivation for anything. I'm pretty lazy unless it's something I really want." I stop talking for a bit as I try to get an understanding of what I want to do. Once it finally comes to me I finally decide to speak it out.

"Well I-"

"Do you love "Tsumu?" Osamu says cutting me off.

I don't have time to think as I can see Kita giving Osamu that scary stare of his which causes Osamu to bounce back a bit.

"You don't have to answer now I mean." Osamu says.

After a while Atsumu comes back which helps everyone get over the awkward silence.

"What were you guys talking about?" Atsumu says with a smile.

"We were talking about l/n's future career choices and asking what she genuinely whats to do in life."

I can tell Atsumu is interested in this conversation as he faces me with an even bigger smile than before.

"Well... what did you say?"

I look down then back up on them.

Just assert my dominance within this group of guys. Don't falter.

"I want to be a psychiatrist. They specialize in mental health. I want to help people with mental health issues. It's what I want to be as my future career." I say.

I can see everyone a bit surprised at my answer and even Atsumu is a bit shocked and he smiles a bit but I continue.

"As for my future choices, I'm going to buy a house here in Japan and I am going to be with Atsumu."

Atsumu's mouth drops open and even Suna looks shocked at my boldness. I think I'll double it back a bit.

"a-as a person! I'm going to be with Atsumu as a person of course as we both talked about staying together and watching each other grow. So of course I'm gonna still talk with Atsumu and still be with him from time to time ha...." I say a bit nervously.

"Good. It's a weight off my shoulders." Osamu says cutting in.

"Hey!" Atsumu yells a bit angry.

"That's a good career choice. I'll admit it's something I did not expect for you to choose but I am glad that it's what you want to be." Kita says smiling at me a bit.

Atsumu is practically beaming at what I said which makes me smile a bit. I turn to Osamu who is staring at me with a smirk.

"Now this is the gift I was talking about. The gift he appreciates from you."
