Merry, Merry christmas y'all! Since I didn't get to write a christmas calendar on my account this year, I thought it'd be nice to upload a little christmas one-shot. I've worked really long on that. Christmas is about forgiveness, family and love for me. That's what this story should tell. I hope y'all had a magical christmas! No matter when u celebrate!
_____________________________"I don't wanna go, Iz." Alec said, as his sister, Isabelle was asking him to join her. It was early in the morning and yet, she wanted to visit the christmas market in town. Usually, you would do that in the evening or at least in the afternoon but since it was Christmas day, and they were celebrating tonight, there was no way they could be there this late.
"No-nope, you're not going to ruin christmas for me just because your lazy ass doesn't want to get up!" Izzy snapped with her arms crossed, looking like she was about to yell at him badly. Actually, they did this every year and Alec never really had a problem with this.
Alec loved christmas, he really did but it was different with him this year. He was used to celebrate christmas with his family, including his boyfriend Magnus.
It's been seven months since both of them broke up and yet he couldn't quite get over the fact that he wouldn't be here this year. He has been here every year, Alec thought. Eight years in a row and now he was gone. Now he had to celebrate christmas with his family, without Magnus by his side.
Izzy sighed. "Come on, Alec. We do that every year! Please." she begged him and since he loved his sister too much, he agreed even though he didn't feel like celebrating at all. He would rather stay at home and watch some christmas movies all alone. It might sound pretty lonely but Alec got used to the loneliness, since Magnus was gone. It became a part of his life, until he would meet someone new.
Meeting someone new - it sounded so unrealistic for Alec. How could he ever love someone the way he loved Magnus? How could he ever let anyone else in after his heart broke into a thousand pieces when it all ended? How could he ever love again?
It wasn't like Alec still cried about Magnus every day, after all, it's been seven months but some days were harder than others. Some days, the memories were just floating in his mind and he had no chance to shut them out.
"Give me twenty minutes to get ready." Alec muttered which made his sister cheer and jump around. Alec had to smile a little because he was glad that he could make his sister happy with little things. That was what christmas was about, right? Making everyone happy.
Exactly twenty minutes later, Alec was ready to go and his brother Jace, Izzy and him were about to leave the house. Since the market wasn't too far away, they were able to walk. It was snowing and there were christmas lights everywhere.
That was a thing he loved about christmas. Everything was just shining and it smelled like gingerbread and cinnamon everywhere. No other time of the year was this peaceful and magical. From afar, you could already hear the christmas music and the children laughing and as he came closer he could finally watch all the people walking around with a big smile on their face. Alec had no choice but smile as well.
Even though he didn't want to leave the house, he was now pretty happy that he got here. The vibes he got from here cheered him up and made him happy. He could forget everything for some time.
There was also a big ice-sakting place here, which was why Izzy usually wanted to go here. She loved Ice-skating and she has been training this since she was a little kid and by now she was almost a professional. Of course, she could just go to the ice rink but she thought it was way more special with all those christmas lights around and Alec could understand that quite well.
