AU: Werewolf!AU
Summary: A trip through the woods yields some interesting results"Let's go camping!"
"Camping...? In this weather?"
"Yeah, camping! It'll be a ton of fun, don't you think?"
"Okay...why?"
"Why not?"
"That's not exactly an answer, dumbass!"
"I'm not really sure what I expected to come out of this trip..." Skylar muttered as she rested her chin against the palm of her hand. Watching in bored amusement as Nami continued to chew out Luffy who was far too busy playing around with the spare equipment to even acknowledge the raging ginger in front of him.
"Would it have really killed you to help us? You're the one that wanted to go on this stupid trip in the first place!" Nami snapped, referring to the young man's lack of help in setting up. Yes, after a two hour hike through the woods to find the supposed "perfect" spot—under Luffy's insistence—another grueling four hours was then spent setting up camp. Luffy hadn't been of much help during the process, far more interested in playing then working as he wound up becoming nothing more than a distraction. Dragging the process of setting up camp out to an embarrassingly long degree.
"I mean, you know how that idiot can be, so what's even the point in getting mad?" Usopp quietly huffed, busying himself with arranging the pile of wood that had been collected earlier in the day into a stack. "He doesn't really think anything through—not the planning or the work that goes into it, he only really thinks about the end result just like he did when he suggested we go camping in the first place" he continued before wincing the moment he heard Luffy's cries of anguish.
"Ow! That hurt, Nami!" the young man whined, frowning as he rubbed at the fresh knot that began to swell atop his head. "What was that for?" he asked, further souring the already infuriated ginger's mood.
"Where you even listening to me?!" she snapped, looking just about ready to throttle the young man.
"N-Nami, let's calm down now before we do s-something rash!" Vivi sputtered, quickly intervening before the situation had a chance of escalating into something far worse than a couple of harsh words.
"I mean, we are in the perfect place to hide a body if we need to" Skylar said, the corners of her lips tugging upwards just the slightest as she watched from the corner of her eye Chopper's failed attempt at hiding. Half his pale face now hidden behind one of the tents while the other half alongside his frail, lanky body was left out in the open. He trembled as he shakily mumbled to himself, no doubt afraid of the possibility that Nami might turn her wrath onto the rest of the group if that temper of hers wasn't soon quelled.
"Ah-ha! Got it!" Usopp suddenly cheered, proudly grinning as he puffed out his chest the moment he finally got a flame going. One that was already slowly starting to grow the longer it ate away at the wood they had gathered.
"Nice, but do you think it'll be enough to get us through the night?" Skylar curiously asked, head tilting back to peer up at the already darkening sky despite it not even being five o'clock yet. All she received in response was silence which in return caused her to suck in a deep breath that soon came spilling out into that of a heavy sigh. "You don't know, do you?" she asked, head lulling to the side to look at her friend.
"I-I'm sure this is plenty enough to get us through the night...at least I think so..." Usopp weakly smiled before his shoulders drooped the moment he saw the blank stare he was given in return. "Okay...I don't know..." he confessed with the drop of his head.
