Luckily, the journey back to Alastor's house wasn't entirely unpleasant. They may have gotten a couple of looks as they walked down the street and up the pathway of the house, but who wouldn't stop and look at two usually well-presenting gentlemen all out of order and smelling heavily of moss and other swampy things?

They managed to do just as Anthony suggested they do; left most of the clothes outside then went up to shower. Afterward, Anthony went out to start washing their laundry after Alastor lent a set of new clothes for the blonde to wear, of course, all were too big for him.
Laundry wasn't something Anthony did too often at all, but he knew how to, considering he would take on the household chores on days his sister was ill.

As he hung up the last shirt to dry, Anthony looked back at the house with a bit of a smile. Alastor was just making something up for lunch now that they were all clean. He still had yet to receive the thing that Alastor had made for him, but he knew he would get it soon.

Anthony made sure to dump the water out of the metal tub before putting it and the washboard near the front door for the time being then went back inside with a sigh. His arms were definitely going to hurt after all of the exercise they'd gotten that day.

"How's lunch comin'?"
The blonde called as he made his way through to the kitchen.

Alastor was in fact just finishing up making their lunch when he heard Anthony entering the kitchen behind him.
"Why yes, it's all ready."
He smiled widely, turning around to face his lover with the plate of sandwiches he'd prepared for them as well as some fresh fruit he'd found.
"And the laundry?"

He knew how much of a pain it was to do laundry, so he wasn't sure whether Anthony had finished or not yet. Not to mention getting the bloodstains and swamp smell out was quite a task in itself.
"Not to worry if you haven't done everything. Mama usually does the laundry on a Monday anyway, so she could always finish up when she returns from work."

Anthony smiled and shook his head.
"It's all done, hangin' t' dry now. I did what I could at least."
He replied, grabbing one of the sandwich halves and taking a bite before he looked at the clock.
"Still got about five hours b'fore your mom's supposed t' get home. Everythin' should be dry by then with all that sun so I can get it all put away so she'll have room for everythin' else."

Leaning against the kitchen counter, Alastor took a bite of one of the sandwiches as well as he nodded. There was a moment's silence while he chewed before he spoke up.
"I apologize if this wasn't what you had in mind for your last day here. Not particularly pleasant."
He sighed, lips pursing together slightly.

"Hey..."
Anthony paused, bringing his left hand up to lightly cup his lover's cheek.
"We spent the day t'gether. That's all I wanted. I wasn't specific with how or what we were doin', so there was a lotta wiggle room with that. Point is we were t'gether. That's all I wanted."
He smiled softly, leaning up and pecking Alastor's cheek.

Leaning into the hold of his lover briefly and smiling a little more at the peck to his cheek, Alastor chuckled.
"I suppose you're right. It seems you wouldn't mind a lot of things, so long as you are with me. Diving into a swamp for example."

"Exactly."
Anthony said slowly with an equally slow nod and a big smile on his face. With that, he moved to stand beside Alastor and leaned back against the counter as well, taking another bite of his sandwich.

"I think..."
He began but put the back of his hand up to his lips once he remembered he still had food in his mouth, making sure to finish that first.
"I think I might wanna stop at a book store t'morrow and pick somethin' up for my trip. Maybe we could go for breakfast too? Don't leave 'till ten."
