Screaming woke me up. I immediately assumed it was Shaun but then realized it was much higher pitched. I stood up, my legs aching from having been asleep. The screaming hadn't stopped.
By the time I figured out what direction the screaming had come from, it had stopped. I decided to keep walking through a path of trees, letting the morning sunrise keep me warm. I could hardly see, my eyes squinting.
"Lodi?"
I jumped about a foot into the air, "You scared me, Shaun!"
"Sorry," he laughed.
A shriek went into the air and Shaun immediately sprinted left of me. I followed him and almost crashed into him as a stopped suddenly.
The woman who had drugged me a few days earlier was lying on the ground with a gigantic telescope on top of her.
"What-" Shaun stammered.
I bent down and attempted to pull the telescope off her. However I realized it was stuck between some rocks. It was pretty big.
"How did this fall on you?" I asked.
The woman answered rudely, "I was carrying it and tripped."
Shaun grabbed the edge of the telescope and managed to pull out the telescope. He picked it up, straining from the weight. I grabbed the other side.
The woman stood up and brushed herself off. Her face was covered in dirt like the first time I saw her. I had the slightest feeling the telescope was not hers.
I look at Shaun and mouthed, I think this is stolen.
He nodded, looking towards the woman.
"We'll carry this for you," I said. I suddenly felt a shove as the woman pushed me aside and took off sprinting.
Shaun caught me and balanced me out.
"That was weird," Shaun murmured. I nodded, looking at the telescope.
Abigail Space Observatory
"Shaun? Is there an observatory around here?" I asked.
"I don't know," he answered.
"Wait," I pointed up the hill, "What is that building? I thought this place was deserted."
"I guess not."
"I wonder if that's the observatory..." I wondered.
"Not too big of a coincidence," Shaun answered, beginning to climb the mountain.
"Wait!" I called, "I bet there is an easier way up. That lady clearly didn't carry the telescope down this steep paths."
Shaun stepped back down and followed me. As I expected I found some steps a little ways down.
By the time we made it to the top, I spotted a sign that said Abigail Observatory.
Shaun walked up to the an open glass door. The whole building seemed to be made of glass.
As I stepped in, I heard a voice.
"Yes? Yeah. I have no idea where it went..." the voice paused, "The security camera caught some movement."
I assumed they were talking about the telescope and was about to walk in when Shaun grabbed my arms and pulled me back quickly.
I yelled, "WHAT ARE YOU-"
"Shh," he put his hand over my mouth, "Lets go. We can leave the telescope here."
"Hello?" a man walked out. His eyes widened, "Shaun-Calvin?"
