Warm sun rays kissed my skin as the continuing crashing sound of water filled the atmosphere. 'What a strange dream I'm having...' I thought, 'It feels, and sounds so realistic... too realistic in fact. This can't be my imagination.' Eventually I fluttered my eyes open. Surrounding me was bright blue water and greenery. I was in... water? It seems like a lot of water- My eyes had to adjust to the vivid, intense colours. I squinted as a result, shading my eyes with my hand which was dripping with salty water. I rubbed my eyes with my other hand and once again started to examine the environment. I spat out some of the salty water that has been in my mouth and still in shock, I got up, my frail body felt heavy. I held my arms in my hands and looked around anxiously to get a hold of the scenery in front of me. It was... warm. Not too cold, not too hot. Bright azure water cascaded upon rocks, tall rich trees stood proud, the glowing sun and birds... It looked so beautiful. The weather and scenery was magical, I wanted to take a picture of this, but, where is my phone? Oh well, I guess I could buy a new one... wait why am I worrying about a phone-
"Where am I?" I muttered in awe. My hand rose up; my sleeves were soaked and crinkled. None of this made sense. Why was I on... some island? It looks like I'm in heaven. I want to stay here longer, but if I wanted to get out, is there even a way?I dragged my bare feet towards the shore. I squeezed the damp cloth from the hem of my shirt. I looked up and at the trees where the birds where singing their sweet melodies. 'What am I supposed to do here? Why am I here by myself?' My fascination quickly died out as I started to panic a bit. My mind got flooded with thoughts and questions, it felt as if my head is about to burst. 'Am I perhaps lost? How can I come back home?! No, but I can get saved, right?' My legs seem to lose balance as I fall onto my knees, holding them towards my head, as I sink into despair. The continuous sound of crashing waves was the only thing comforting me. No matter how scared I started to get, the waves mixed with soft chirping calmed me down, just a little bit
'What am I going to do?...' I still had some hope left. Since I tend to over think a lot, I tried comforting myself with positive thoughts, like 'There should be other people around. I want to try to explore, I should do that. But, I just want to process all of this first...' I ended up sleeping there for a while.✯ time skip ✯
"Hey, can you hear me..." Silence. "Um, hello? Are you awake?" ... "Um, hello? Are you alright? Can you hear me?"
I was tired, and wanted to go back to sleep. But instead of being stubborn I decided to lift my head up so that I wasn't being rude. I wanted to see who the foreign voice belonged to, still having a little hope that I was going to be saved. But this person wasn't anyone that I knew; they were a complete stranger, obviously. It wasn't a surprise anyway. They bent down slightly so that they could have a better look at me. I took this chance to examine them too. It was a guy. He was wearing a white shirt that had a red logo on it, on top of his shirt he was wearing a long green hoodie that was about knee length. He was wearing jeans and normal trainers... wait... are those zippers?! Chile anyway, his face was extremely pale and his eyes were a mix of green and grey, his shoulder length hair was white and unkempt and was tinted with light pink, as if his messy hair had a gradient.
"Uh, hi! You alright? You seem lost." He repeated. His voice was soft and breathy.
"Who are you?" I replied coldly. I said it that way unintentionally. He chuckled sheepishly and stood up. "What are you doing here? Do you live here or something?" I said, also standing up. 'That sounded less offensive in my head' I gave myself a mental face palm.
"No no, unfortunately I don't know where I am or how I ended up here. But luckily I found myself some company. I'm going to assume you don't know where you are either, but don't lose hope! I'm pretty sure there are more lost people our age here too." He said with a reassuring smile. 'What does he mean by 'lost people our age'? How come he's lost too? Am I still dreaming?' Suddenly I slapped my face with both my lukewarm hands. 'Guess this is not a dream.' The guy let out a shocked gasp.
"I have to get out of here." I said sternly.
"Oh- Uh, I haven't introduced myself yet. Wow, how impolite, well my name is Nagito Komaeda. I'm supposed to be attending Hope's Peak Academy. And- well- you are? I mean, you don't need to talk to an insignificant human being like me if you want. So I guess you can leave." He rubbed the back of his head and looked at the ground, still smiling to himself for some reason. 'He needs help if he's talking about himself like that so openly.' I sigh and turn to him, trying to make eye contact. 'He said that he's supposed to attend Hope's Peak, wait, so am I! So maybe he is right after all, maybe there are more students around.'
"Really? What a coincidence- I'm supposed to attend Hope's Peak too... Perhaps you're right." I smiled at him, trying to cheer him up.
"Oh! That's amazing! I am lucky after all! Well, now that I know that you're a Hope's Peak student, I'm quite curious to know about your ultimate talent. I'm the Ultimate Lucky Student. It's not really a talent if you ask me. I can tell you more about it if you're interested." His eyes lit up like if I was the only person in the world that wanted to talk to him.
"Oh- sure- go ahead."
"Okay, well, the reason I said that this isn't really a talent is because my name got picked randomly to join Hope's Peak. It was like a raffle draw- So I don't consider my 'talent' a talent. What about your talent? You must have an amazing ultimate talent!" He said while smiling brightly. He doesn't seem like a weird guy at all anymore. I giggled and replied,
"Well, I guess it sort of is a talent. Anyway, I'm the Ultimate Philanthrope. ("A person who seeks to promote the welfare of others, especially by the generous donation of money to good causes." Basically a very good person that loves helping everyone out and caring for them.) buuutt I prefer being called the Ultimate Sweetheart. (Not in the romantic way, but you just like being called that because you are a generally likable person.) Oh, and my name is Y/n L/n." (your name, last name 😉)
"Wow! No wonder why you're extremely nice! That's an awesome talent to have! And what a wonderful name you have! I admire you already!" He said while laughing childishly. He said that in a tone as if he's some piece of garbage. Also I can't tell if he's being sarcastic or not, but I appreciate his kindness.
"Oh haha- Anyway we better get going. There should be more people around so let's search for them." He nodded and we set off. I was still thinking about my phone and belongings but I should just start exploring this place, maybe I'll find them then.
[A/n] -You don't need to read this by the way. But basically the funny thing is that this was supposed to be my homework- not the fanfic thing but basically I had to make a whole story with that picture above of the waterfall thing, so while I was doing my homework I was just like 'Hmmm I might as well add Nagito to this but not make him say his name cause my teacher would be like "tf" ' So after writing it and submitting it I was just like 'Damn this could make a sick fanfic. Imma make a Nagito x reader fanfic now.' So yeah- Enjoyyyy! Hopefully I finish this. - Namz
