Rich POV

When I heard Kat say she loved me, I had to rush outside. How can she say something like that when I have her in the hospital bed plugged up to some damn Epidural? She only saying that to make you feel like it's not your fault. She wants you to be happy that the baby is on the way. Yeah, on the way too early. I stood in the lobby and made the dreaded call: her parents.

Me: H- Hello?

MIL: Hey Rich! Baby, it's Rich!

Me: Ummm... I don't know how to say this.

MIL: C'mon baby, spit it out. Hey, tell Kat I made bistec con pollo!

Me: We won't be able to make it tonight... or in a while.

MIL: And why is that?

Me: because Kat is in labor.

MIL: WHAT!?! Ohmigoodness, I'm on my way!

Me: Alright. See you soon. Click.

I walked back towards the room and sighed. Am I really ready to be a father. I'm gonna be in charge of another life now . I took in a deep breath and entered the room.

"UGGGHH! It's time, baby! Call Dr. Cusack and the nurse! And hurry!" She managed to moan out.

5 minutes later...

I held Kat's hand as the doctor checked to see how far she was dilated. She was 8 centimeters. I'm about to be a dad.

Kat looked up at me and sniffled. She looked vulnerable and real, like the woman I fell in love with.

"I'm scared baby. I am scared that we not gonna be good parents . Baby... I love you. And nothing will ever change that." She said to me.

I grabbed her face with my free hand and kissed her. She instinctively grabbed my tshirt, trying to get what she was seeking for. I refrained, and trust me, it was hard.

"Baby, that's why we here now! Cause of what you be doin to me!" I chuckled.

My heart melted when I saw her eyes give me that sexy devious sparkle.

"Ok son, we need to get some more drugs in her before she gives birth. We want to numb her, it might hurt more than an average birth." The doctor told me.

I grabbed her hand and she said to me: Don't let go, Rich. Don't let go."

And I didn't let go. And I never will.
