Neji opened the door to his hotel room happy to be back from the weekend of hell. All the guys got so drunk that he, Sasuke, and Shikamaru had to take care of them. Once in the room, he noticed Tenten sitting on the couch working grading papers.

"I am back, how was your weekend with the girls?" He said putting his bag down and sitting next to his girlfriend.

She looked at him with a serious face.

"You okay?" he asked.

She got up and started pacing around the room with anger in her eyes "No! I thought I was here to meet your family and friends, go to your cousin's wedding, eat some good food. Instead, I feel like I'm a villain in a soap opera!" She flared the papers around in her hands now facing him. "apparently, Im someone who is plotting to steal your family fortune!"

Neji quickly got up putting his hands on her shoulders to get her to stop pacing "What happened?"

"I meet Karin." She said in a snarky tone.

Neji pulled back rolling his eyes "We dated for a month when we were 15 because my father felt that there was a possible business interest with her father. But that fell through and I dont even count her."

"Well, she told me that everyone here thinks that I'm the evil person who prevented you from moving back to Konoha. I mean, I didn't even know you were supposed to come home!"

"You have every reason to be upset. I-"

Tenten put her hand up cutting him off "I'm not done yet. There was also this gutted, bloody fish that Karin's friends left for me in my room, on my bed next to the words 'catch this you gold-digging bitch'! Written in big, fat serial-Killer letters."

"Is that all that happened?"

Tenten looked up at Neji with more anger.

He shook his head knowing that came out wrong "I mean, please tell me that's all that happened."

She pulled away from him and started to pace around him again "you know what? I dont even care about those stupid girls with their stupid little designer handbags and sunglasses! I dont care that your ex-girlfriend told me all this crap!" she stopped and looked right at him "What I am pissed about is that you didn't tell me any of this!"

"Tenten" he ran his hand through the top of his long hair.

"Why? Were you trying to test me?" she yelled.

His face scrunched in frustration "Of course not! I made a mistake."

"Then why?!"

"Tenten... when we first met, you had no idea who I was, who my family was. You didn't care." He then moved forward putting his hands on her waist "you are so different from all of the women that I grew up with. You are extremely independent, a hard worker who could care less about what others think, passionate about what you do, and absolutely beautiful without even knowing it."

Tenten moved her hands onto his large forearms and then looked up at him lightly pouting "you think I'm beautiful?"

He smiled "The most beautiful...... Tenten, I love who I am around you." he moved closer causing her to smile "I dont want this between us to change. It's selfish, I know."

"What? You Neji Hyuga being selfish?" she said sarcastically messing with him.

He shook his head at her comment "I'm sorry that you had to deal with that on your own. But I am here now, and whatever happens, we'll get through it together"

She leaned up giving him a quick peck on the lips and then laid her head on his chest "okay, but could we do something tonight? Just the two of us?"
