"Tenten," Temari said lightly as she made her way into the guest room with the heartbroken woman laying in the bed. Only a light sliver of the morning rays had shown threw "hey, breakfast is ready."
"Im not hungry" she looked up at her friend with bags under her eyes from the sleepless night.
Temari sighed "You need to eat or use the bathroom, or maybe just shower. It is there if you need it."
Tenten rolled over with her back towards her friend "I just want to sleep."
The blonde nodded her head before making her way out.
The next few days were the same. Tenten only got up when she had to but would go back to her safe place in the empty bed. Gaara and Kankuro would drop food off for her but she would only eat a little. Neji called constantly but she eventually turned her phone off. He would even stop by Temaris place every morning to talk with her, however, she refused to see him.
"Hey, someone is here to see you" as Temari steps into the room.
"I dont want to see him," Tenten said as she sat up in her bed still wearing her large college t-shirt and sweat pants.
"It's not Neji," She said lightly.
"Tenten"
She instantly looked up to see her father walk into the room. "Dad!" she got out of the bed and ran into her father's arms.
Temari smiled and took that as her queue to leave.
He pulled back examining his daughter "you look like crap."
Tears fell down her face causing him to pull her back into a tight hug "I know but I am so happy to see you."
"I can tell you have not been eating. Why dont you shower, I will go make you some food and tea." he began to make his way out of the room. "I will make you tea with dong-quai and ginseng as they will give you more energy."
"Dad, wait"
He turned around to see more than just a broken heart in her eyes, but a broken soul.
She held her gaze with him "Why did you lie to me about my mother?"
He sighs fully aware of the whole situation. "I was hoping to get your strength up before we talked about this but since you are asking."
He motioned for her to sit on the large ottoman that was placed at the foot of the bed. "I want to let you know that there was a real reason for hiding this from you. Your mother, bless her soul was the most amazing woman I had ever encountered. But we did not meet while she was spending her holiday in China. I was actually a special intelligence agent for the Chinese government."
Tentens eyes widened after hearing that "Woah."
He smiled lightly "That's not the only thing crazy out of the story. You see, I was undercover for years working as a soldier for a wealthy gang in China. Well, they were working with the Ankoku family from Japan on exporting drugs over and had been looking for soldiers to send over. I spoke with my superiors at the agency and they reached out to the Japanese government about this finding. They told me that I needed to do what I could to go so that I would help them gain initial on the Ankoku family as well. It was like killing two birds with one stone. Luckily I was fluent in Japanese so I was the first pick to go, if anything I was put in charge of the small group. It was my job to go to meetings, deal with pick up and drop-offs, do their dirty work, just the usual. My goal was to get what I could and get out after the year-long assignment in Japan. That was till I saw your mother."
His face faltered slightly thinking of her "I never lied to you that it was loved at first sight for us."
Tenten reached over grabbing his hand wanting him to continue.
