Coral's POV:
"I can't believe you would do this to me!" I screamed in the phone as I walked down the street towards the mall.
My best friend Alexa who has ALWAYS been there for me can't come and be there for me. "I really need to talk to you about Brendan again!" I yelled.
"Not again!"she said with a frustrated voice."How many times do we have to talk about him!" She sighed. "Until he actually notices me and likes me." But I know that's never going to happen because I was the odd person that never fits in at school because I don't like what other people like. Alexa loves everything! She'll fit in with anybody! But sometimes she has a high temper. I usually only see that side of her when she's either sticking up for me 'cause I get bullied by someone different everyday, or she gets mad at her phone.
Grade 8 is so confusing! We're the oldest in middle school so we're all getting ready for high school.
"I have to go to dance so we'll talk later" Alexa said hanging up before I had a chance to put another word in.
"Now what do I do? I tried calling my other friends Gwyn and Milena, but Gwyn's at art class and Milena's to busy. Probably trying to style herself in pink again.
I was all alone at the mall until I saw Brendan. With his beautiful blond hair and blue eyes, I couldn't stop looking at him until I saw that I was drooling. I was too nervous to walk up to him so I decide to look the best I could as he passed by.
But like every day when I see him he just keeps walking like I'm not there. He doesn't even look at me. What a disaster. But what would you expect from the most popular and the most hottest boy in school. Not to mention he's the captain of the football team. Almost every girl in school likes him.
When I got home I unpacked my stuff and went to help out with things. Our family is poor so there's not a lot to do. We have barely any dishes and we sit on the floor to eat we don't have to set the table. Life's hard. My mom died recently from heart disease. Now it's just my dad and I in the house.
"Coral!" He yelled from upstairs. "I'm leaving to go to another job interview! You're going to have to make dinner yourself!" I hate making dinner, but I have to suck it up. "Okay!" I said with an enthusiastically upset voice. "Hope you get the job!"
"Thanks!" He said as he went out the door. Alone again. What could be worse.
Deciding not to eat at all, I jumped onto my bed, under the covers and fell asleep right away. I dreamed what I usually dream, Brendan and I on the beach holding hands until he leans in for a kiss.
But like usual, I get waken up before the actual kiss happens. I looked at the time and "Dad! Why didn't you wake me up! I'm late for school!" I couldn't find him anywhere! Then I found him sleeping on the floor in the balcony.
"DAD!!!" I yelled. He jumped up. "AHHHHHH!!! You scared me! Oh my goodness you're late for school!"
