Chapter 4: How I met him
The village that me and Yuna lives in wasn't very big. Surprisingly we haven't seen any demons around maybe some here and there but they never came to where we lived at.

Recently tho there has been more and more deomon's out there. I tried keep both me and my sister safe by staying indoors. That didn't work out because Yuna wanted to go pick and cherries.

So one day I said yes and she was super happy. She smiled all the way to the garden where the cherrie tree was kept at. The cherrie tree was more deeply into the forest that was behind our house.

"Yuna are you ready to pick out some cherries?" I enthusiastically said to her

"Hell yes!" She exclaimed

"Yuna don't say that." I said pouting at her

"Oh- I'm so sorry for saying that!" she apologized

"It's alright but maybe use more appropriate words next time when you are excited?" I questioned her laughing a bit

"Mhm!" She happily marched to the cherrie tree

I smiled as I continued walking with her. I carried the basket over my right arm until we got to the tree. When we got there Yuna immediately ran over and started jumping trying to reach the cherries.

"Yuna" I giggled, "You can't reach."

"Hmph" she said jokingly being frustrated

"Here I'll carry you" I said placing the basket next to the tree and lifting her up

"Mmm" Yuna spoke trying to reach for the cherries

"Yuna stretch your arm out more" I said

"I am!" She said frustrated

I then heard a tree break from behind us. I stayed still and silently took Yuna from the air and into my arms hugging her.

"Hey-!" She spoke but I cut her off by putting my hand onto her mouth

"Shhh..." I whispered

I looked behind me ready at any moment for someone to come out. We usually never get people coming to our house. After mom and dad left their family members stopped coming.

I could hear someone sniffing the air and then someone speaking.

"Hmmmm..." The person smelled the air again, "I smell two humans!"

"Where could they be I smelled them just right ahead of me-" he was cut off by staring at both me and Yuna

I was stunned as I saw a demon pop out from the trees. I was more frightened now that the demon was looking at us as I knew we were either going to be eaten or be dead.

Again i never knew a demon really existed until I read some old journals my mom and dad left behind for some reason. I stood there shaking like an idiot.

Yuna screamed out, "A monster!"

"Yu-" I spoke

"A monster? No kid I'm a demon." He smiled at us

"Since you are going to die then I guess you can get to know my name" he spoke again before saying, "I'm going to eat both of you."

"Ahhhhh!" Yuna said terrified

"Yuna please don't-" I was cut off again

"Kai, the names kai." He spoke again

"Please don't eat my sister eat me instead!" I shouted at him

"Mmm what i would rather eat both of you." Kai cracked his neck before pointing at us, "Two is better than one."

"Wait but-" I tried to beg for him not to kill Yuna but he was already attacking us

I grabbed Yuna and ran as fast as I could. Since he was faster than me he scraped the back of my skin and dress. I fully hugged Yuna as I ran even faster trying to get away from the man.

As I was running I tripped over a piece of branch that was on the floor and dropped Yuna. I crashed on the floor and severely felt pain in my lower stomach and face.

I didn't have no time to worry about that I was hurt but I needed to escape with Yuna. I got up as quickly as possible grabbing Yuna and running. This time Kai was right behind me and grabbed my leg pulling me forcefully onto the ground.

I still was holding onto to Yuna but before J hit the floor with her I released her from my arms.

"What a bunch of stupid kids" the demon spoke

"Yuna nows the chance to-"

The demon pressed down onto my back and I felt such a sharp pain that I blood came out of my mouth.

"Speak one more word and I'll kill you" he spoke angrily

I smiled and as loudly as I could I said, "YUNA RUN!"

He stepped on my back even harder more blood spilling out of my mouth.

"I said to shut up!" He said put a finger into his ear cleaning it

"No we have to stay together-" she said tears down her face

"run..." I whispered

She immediately took off and started to run but Kai (demon) wasn't going to let it happened.

"Hey kid-"

"Breath of mist: Third Form: Scattering Mist Splash"

"uhGh" the demon said in pain

I heard the sound of a click as I saw the demon perish into ashes. Yuna was on the floor crying as she crawled over to me.

She rapped her arms around me tightly hugging me. I only had one eye open smiling at her as blood dripped from my mouth. My dress was ripped and I had marks on my back.

I looked behind me and saw this person standing their was a "demon slayer corps" type of uniform on. This person had long hair with blue strands at the bottom.

He had no expression on his face but was only looking forward. I gently unwrapped Yuna's hands from my neck and placed her besides me.

"Thank you..." I softly spoke

The person directed their eyes to me...
