Chapter 10

Jack's POV

AFTER a few days, Ms. Snow and I left the mini-hospital that the cruise-ship have. She said she can manage to stand up, so we are here on the front balcony of the ship. Inhaling the fresh scent of the ocean breeze as the ship moves swiftly. Somehow, I manage to get a day off because Hiccup is now helping me to find Elsa Winters. He met Ms. Snow last Thursday, Hiccup said she's a good catch that I should spend a day with her because he said that Ms. Snow needs company.

"Derek?"

At first, when she called me that, I didn't get to look at her. But gladly, I snapped out of her beautiful face. Did I just stare at her for too long? "Hmm?", I asked. Oh well, I need to carry Mr. Derek's name for the sake of this mission. No matter how hard it is.

" I have a question, this is a friend related one", Ms. Snow looks at the orange skies. It was a perfect sunset.

"What is it?", I lean against the railing. Crossing my arms, I look at her brown eyes. Her long brown hair waves with the air and I can smell the strawberry scent of shampoo from it.

This is the first time I see the loss of confidence in her. Ms. Snow is now fidgeting her fingers, biting her lower lip. Holding her hands to stop her from being nervous, her hazel eyes look at mine. "Tell me about it", I smiled at her.

"Okay", Ms. Snow breathed out. " So I have this one friend, she's starting to like someone but she can't tell him the truth because he might despise her if she ever did". Somehow, what she said pierced my heart. What is this stupid feeling? It's her friend, not Ms. Snow.

"Uh-hmm, continue", I said. Letting go of her hand, I get back to my position. Ms. Snow looked away from me, she shifted her eyes on the sea. "I don't know what to tell her Derek. She's pretending to be someone else. She has so many what ifs", she grasped tight on the bars.  Ms. Snow looks down.

If it was her friend why does she look agitated?

" When you love there are no what-ifs, all you know is coming after the person you love, no matter what it takes. In my case, I never fell in love before so I don't know about you", I smirked.

Ms. Snow look at me again, this time her expression lightened. "Then how come you say those things?", She asked with a smile. Her big eyes, waiting for answers.

" I admit I fell in love with a woman named Elisa before. She has this light deep green eyes and blonde hair that put sunshine to my gray world, she's a cheerful girl...", I chuckled.

"Then?", she sounded like a little girl waiting for the ending of a fairytale.

"Then I found out that she's dating Ravenal. She loved him more than me. It hurts but I decided to move on. At least it left me a lesson not to decide quickly without thinking twice", Ms. Snow's face was guilty.

She covered her mouth using her palms. " Not a big deal. I'm happy to where she is happy", I smiled at Ms. Snow. Facing the ocean, I put both of my hands on the railing. Inhaling the fresh breeze of the ocean, my hair getting brushed by the air. I felt relaxed.

"I don't want to keep asking but at the same time, I want to. What pushed her to not choose you?", Ms. Snow asked.

I stayed still.

" Hmmm, I'm not enough for her. Although I did everything, she still chose her knight in shining armor. Ravenal was Elisa's first love and I can't blame her for that", I smiled.

I miss the old times with Elisa.

With me dancing with her, with her family, exchanging presents every Christmas, and playing in the snow with her. I was overconfident that I will win her over but it took me nowhere. I was left with pain and decisions.  Decisions if I should let her go or not.

I truly loved her.

I truly loved Elisa.

She's my everything.

Sadly we didn't get to be together as a couple. It's all one-sided love, I am just a guy who wished to be like Ravenal. A human being with a very pleasing personality, richer than me and most of all, Elisa's choice. At least I get to make her happy without demanding anything back.

"It's getting cold here! Maybe I should stop asking questions!", Ms. Snow fake shivered and laughed. I look at her cute face, her hazel eyes standing out the moment the lights of the ship lit. I smiled, pinching her cheeks.

"Let's get you back in your room. It's bad for the patient with a wound staying up in a breezy night", I said.

"I would like that, please accompany me to my room", Ms. Snow spoke as if she's a member of the royal family. I laughed and so did she. I walk close to her, bowing, and offered a hand to her.

" May I your Highness?", I smirked meeting her eyes. We laughed louder, she took my hand and I held her carefully.

After escorting her, I went into my room. I got startled by Hiccup who was standing behind the couch smiling at me. Mocking expression obvious in his face, forcing himself not to laugh. "Did it go well?", Hiccup asked. The tone of his voice has dirt in it.

" No, I didn't have sex with her", I sat down on the couch after closing the door. Sighing, I closed my eyes. This is a mission and not a love story.

"Knowing you Jack Frost? Ha! Liar! So tell me, did it went smoothly?", Hiccup playfully slides down the couch and sits with him putting his arm around my shoulder. Wiggling his brown thick eyebrows. Rolling my eyes, I laughed.

" I didn't really. She's a type of woman you want to respect", I said. Hiccup removed his arm from me, gagging.

"Since when did you become a gentleman!?", Hiccup asked.

" Just now", I smirked.

"Tell me about it", Hiccup playfully said.

I trust this dude. We are friends, he is a nice friend. We know each other's attitude and ways of catching an expensive fish in the sea. " How's the trace going?", I changed the topic.

"About that, I have suspicions about Ms. Snow.. ", Hiccup said.

" Don't tell me she is Elsa because I'm not going to forgive myself", I said.

"She is Ms. Snow"

Then Ms. Snow's question came right into my head.

" So I have this one friend, she's starting to like someone but she can't tell him the truth because he might despise her if she ever did"
