Always, Accra is full of life and
exuberance.

"Get out of the way!" the
sweaty porter shouts.

There is noise everywhere. People
from different social classes parade
through the streets of Makola to buy
or sell.

Babies cling to their mothers' backs.

Porters carry loads of goods from one
place to another for a fee.

The merchants shout "Fresh fish!
Fresh vegetables! Fresh meat! Bring
your colorful clothes here!"

It is a sight to behold. Everywhere in
the city there are a lot of people.

The night life in Accra is differen from
that of the day.

The night breezehums relaxation and peace.

While the old retire to rest, the young
people flood the streets to enjoy the
fruits of the night.

There is joy. Friends gather to catch
up on their daily activities.

Life on campus is no exception, but
not as hard as it is in the busiest cities
of Accra.

Campus life can be described as
boring and fun, depending on the
type of people you mingle with or
how the semester goes.

Milagros could not contain herself on
the last days of the semester.

Being in  her third year, she decided
to embark on a summer vacation trip
to Madrid with her friends.

The academic year had been stressful
for her and she just wanted to enjoy
and have time for herself.

Studying at the University of Ghana,
Africa, is tedious but fun.

Milagros was Spanish but her parents
moved to Ghana for work.

She had two of her best friends in
Ghana and the other two in Spain.

She decided to call her friends after
the last exam of the semester to tell
them about her plans to go to Spain
for the summer vacations.

She met with two of her friends,
Regina and Pablo, to plan the
trip.

"Honestly, I've never been to Spain, so
I'm here for this trip, Mila," Regina
said.

Mila knew she could count on her
friends to come.

She smiled and said, "I am very happy
because we will not only see my
grandparents, but also our partners
in crime, Raquel and Emilio, who will
take us around the city of Madrid.
You know it's been 10 years since I've
been to Spain".

Pablo, remained silent and seemed
disturbed.

The girls realized that Pablo was
acting strangely.

"What's wrong with you, Pablo?"
Regina asked.

"I don't know if my parents will allow
me to take a trip to Madrid. They've
cut off all contact with the rest of the
family in Spain, so it will be difficult
for me to go there.", Said Pablo.

The girls assured Pablo that
everything will be fine and that they
plan to rent an apartment to stay,
since none of them want to stay with
any relatives.

Pablo finally relaxed and the friends
began planning their trip to Madrid.

Milagros called Raquel and Emilio to
tell them about the vacation trip to
Spain.

They were also excited. The friends
booked their flight to Spain and
accommodation in Madrid, Spain.
