The next morning was a blessing. The
group woke up rejuvenated as
always. Racquel and Emilio have
moved in with the rest of the group
to spend the vacation with them.

While they were having breakfast,
they heard a knock on the door. Paul
went to check who it was at the door.

He opened the door and saw a young
man bustling dressed in a traditional
male Spanish suit and a hat.

He told Pablo his name was Diego
Rivera and that Regina had given him
the address of the guest house
during the carnival so that he could
visit her.

Upon hearing the young man's voice,
Regina ran to the door to see Diego.

Diego was allowed to enter the living
room of the apartment.

Regina introduced him to her friends.
Diego couldn't take his eyes off
Milagros.

"So Diego, what do you do?",
Pablo asked.

Diego averted his eyes from Milagros
to respond.

"Well, I am a student of the
University of Salamanca. I came here
to Madrid to spend the vacations
with my family," he responded.

The group nodded their head.

"My family is well known for being
the most important and famous
participants in the bullfighting
festivals. This year, I have been
selected by my family to be the
bullfighter and my family are
sponsored," he added with pride and
arrogance.

Regina was very flattered by Diego's
words. While Diego spoke, he kept
looking at Milagros until it became
uncomfortable.

To break the tension, Regina asked
Diego to tell them the history of
bullfighting in Spain, since he
claimed that his family was a legend
with respect to the bullfights.

He began by saying, "I don't know if
you know this, but bullfights have
existed in Spain for a long time time.
The event has been celebrated since
the coronation of King Alfonso VIII
and also in many occasions
important. It seems more like a ritual
of some type. It looks a lot like the
games of gladiators of ancient Rome,
but this time the fight is between the
humans and the fiercest bulls in the
arena.
In the beginning, it was the nobles
who had the privilege of participating in the rituals of killing
bulls, but now commoners can do it.
Bullfighting is a tradition that you
can't miss in Spain. At the bullfights,
there are 3 bullfighters and each has
to fight a bull and they have the
option of killing or forgiving it
when they are finally tamed.
Most bullfights are celebrated in an
arena or in the bulls plaza.
Bullfights have gained grounds and
popularity in the culture Spanish. A
series of rules and Traditional
structures should be followed during
the bullfight.
The three stages that are also
called Tercios are: the Tercio de
Varas, el Tercio de Banderillas and
Tercio de muerte. These stages are the
stages that bullfighters should follow
in the arena with the bull.
It takes intelligence and sharpness
to be victorious in the bullfight."

The friends listened to him with great
attention. After Diego finished telling the legend and history of bullfighting,
the structure and how it became a
very appreciated event in some parts
of Spain, Milagros asked him
suddenly to tell how one can
participate in the bullfights because it
looks attractive.

"Well, I think anyone who participate
in this bloodbath is crazy," said Pablo.

The group of friends laughed except
Diego. Diego shook his head at the bad
joke that Paul shared.

Milagros stood up and went out to sit
near the fountain that was in the
middle  of the guest house. A child
came running towards Milagros.
